I had debated posting this but in case it happens to help catch a thief or block a sale (please repost/like): Last week in Biarritz, France, I had my camera backpack with $20k worth of my interview gear stolen. I’m not going to give too many details concerning the actual theft as it is an ongoing police investigation. I am super cautious regarding my equipment, backpack, and luggage. Unfortunately, things can still happen, which is why AirTags and @Apple Find My are your friend (to be continued in a later update). So for the purposes of search engine visibility and in case any of the pro photographers and content creators in my network see any of the following for sale in France or Western Europe, here’s a non-exhaustive list: – MacBook Pro M1 16” laptop – serial LWFVVJV2KW – Apple iPad mini 6 with a grey folio cover and pencil – serial KC4WFL7F3C – @Sony A7SIII (A7S3) camera in a @SmallRigGlobal cage with a peak design/arca rapid release plate – Sony SEL20F18G 20mm lens with Urth filters – Sony SEL24105G 24-105 G/OSS lens with Urth filters – 2 @ProGradeDigital 256gb SDXC V90 memory cards Most everything was in a 30L black @peakdesignltd Everyday photography backpack – Blue Peak Design slide strap and a black clutch strap on the camera – Peak Design carbon fiber travel tripod Along with all of my SmallRig gear, @AnkerOfficial USB chargers, extra @neewerofficial NW-F970 batteries, @SamsungFR T7 backup drives, and small camera accessories, there was also: – @AtomosGlobal Ninja V video monitor/recorder with Atom X SSD drive in a SmallRig cage and cables – @rodemics Wireless Go II with four Lavelier II microphones and cables They also grabbed a white Nintendo Switch OLED with a bunch of Pokemon and Zelda games in a brown leather travel case. 😱 Feel free to share the gear list with your local European photo store or forum. Hopefully, I will have most of the gear replaced over the next few weeks and not miss out on too many interviews or other videos at the next few months' conferences.
