Private schooling for a wealthy minority is the cause of so many problems in our society, media & politics.
Like Finland, kids should be educated in government funded & supervised schools, eating free school meals together to build shared values, understanding & citizenship.

It’s not that I didn’t engage with these people for my entire life. I did. But at a certain point, and a genocide might be a “certain point,” you just realize that we can’t debate ourselves out of this.
“Zionism has brought millions of people to a state of utter derangement,” Pulitzer Prize winner Benjamin Moser said, noting that pro-Israel commentators struggle to even acknowledge that Palestinians are human.
Moser questioned the value of platforming such views in the name of “balance,” comparing it to debating the merits of Nazism or inviting a member of the KKK to provide an opposing perspective when interviewing a Black guest.

Fact check: Labour are arming a genocide.
Andy Burnham and Ed Miliband offer apologies over Gaza - but continue to arm a genocide.
Labour call those who oppose the genocide - even those of us who are Jewish - antisemitic.
More and more people see through this absolute charade.

Terrifying rumors are swirling about Israel pressuring Trump to launch a nuclear strike on Iran immediately after the midterms or some other major escalation. I wish I was sure that this was too unhinged to take seriously, but we do not live in sane times where these kinds of dismissals are possible. Instead, we live amidst the rise of end times fascism, where dangerous accelerationists hold enormous sway in both the Israeli and U.S. governments.
The hardcore religious end timers have partnered with criminals like Trump, Netanyahu, and several tech oligarchs whose only path to avoiding legal accountability for their many crimes is dramatic (and distracting) escalation. I desperately hope the rumors are exaggerated, but we need to be ready in case they are not.
That's why we are releasing this video today on the eve of the U.S. midterms. We can defeat these maniacs, but only if we know what we are up against.

I cannot believe Labour has actually tanked 11 local authorities because the Green Party said a racist ideology that has culminated in genocide — the ultimate expression of racism — is … racist.
I told you. Burnham is far worse on Palestine than even Keir Starmer. It’s insane.

Rachel Millward reacts to Labour's decision to undermine local democracy.

ALT "Labour holds no moral high ground on the issue of Israel and Palestine after materially supporting a genocide for three years. It is utterly irresponsible to conflate criticism of the actions of the state of Israel with antisemitism. Many Jewish people strongly reject the illegal actions of the current Israeli government. Palestinian freedom and Jewish safety are not competing principles and must not be treated as if they are. We are disappointed that Labour have chosen to undermine their councillors’ work for our communities." It is not difficult to predict the combined effect of imposing a hierarchy of racisms in which antisemitism sits at the top and of enforcing the IHRA definition on schools, effectively outlawing robust criticism of Israel.
The new Bell review will require school administrations and teaching staff to police classrooms and playgrounds as never before and to crack down on any demonstration of normal, empathetic behaviours among pupils. Henceforth concern for the suffering of Palestinians will be classed as aberrant, as “radicalisation”.
Expressing solidarity with Palestinian children killed or injured in Gaza risks being flagged as a safeguarding threat to Jewish pupils. As will displaying pro-Palestinian or anti-genocide badges. As will holding bake sales to raise money to feed and house Gaza’s children living in Gaza’s ruins. As will wearing traditional Palestinian costume on national identity days celebrated in many of Britain’s more diverse schools.
Already since the Gaza genocide, record numbers of pupils have reportedly been referred to the government’s Prevent “counter-extremism” programme for wearing pro-Palestine badges and stickers.
Acts of fellow feeling for the oppressed, for the victims of what the world’s highest court warns is an apartheid regime, will be banished from schools.
Daniel Kebede, head of the National Education Union, has warned: “Recommending the IHRA definition risks tightening the chilling grip already stifling classroom discussion of the Gaza genocide.”
The logic of the government’s hierarchy of racisms will be fully on display.
Pupils will be denied the right to identify with traumatised Palestinian children in Gaza, so that Jewish children in Britain can be left in peace to identify with a foreign state – Israel – even as it is widely accused of committing genocide.
Presumably, the government’s hope is that, if caught early enough, pupils can be trained out of their normal instincts to care for the less fortunate, for those who suffer. They can be taught that such feelings are shameful and evidence of Jew hatred.
And by extension, they can be made to believe that the British state’s years-long collusion in Israeli atrocities is not a crime but the moral thing to do.
Any pupils who stray from the correct path, who refuse to be cowed, will be subjected to mandatory Zionist re-education, implemented through fiercely pro-Israel lobby groups masquerading as Jewish community organisations.
That is the prospect too for British children who have Palestinian, Arab or Muslim heritage, including those who have had family members killed, maimed, ethnically cleansed or tortured by Israel.
For years they have watched the suffering and humiliation of their communities, while knowing that the British government – their government – is complicit in those crimes.
Now they will have to permanently hide and suppress their true feelings to avoid punishment.
Those who fail to do so will be subjected to British state-sponsored instruction programmes run by pro-Israel groups to “correct” their wrongthink, to force these children to love the very state that has murdered and abused their compatriots and loved ones.

Labour stand in total disgrace today. Ed Miliband’s fake apology can go in the bins that probably will now go uncollected. Andy Burnham: "I cannot support this antisemitic policy."
Perhaps Andy Burnham should reflect on why he is conflating a political ideology with an entire religious community. Zionism and Judaism are not interchangeable. Treating them as though they are is deeply problematic,
Zionism is a political ideology, not a religion.
Calling for recognition that Zionism is racism is neither inherently racist nor antisemitic.
To me, this looks less like Andy Burnham standing up against antisemitism and more like him protecting Israel from legitimate political criticism.
Shame on you @UKLabour
