Here is some information about the boy. His name is Levan Merritt.
Now 44 years old, he lives in Horsham, West Sussex (England), where he works as a groundskeeper. He is now a father and jokingly shares that his three children sometimes roll their eyes whenever he starts telling the "gorilla story" again.
As a side note, he spoke out publicly in 2016 during the Harambe incident (the gorilla shot dead in an American zoo after a child fell into the enclosure).
He publicly expressed his regret over the animal's death, recalling how lucky he had been to cross paths with a gorilla as protective as Jambo.

Yo apruebo. 🤭
