Here's the recipe for the appetite stimulating cake.
The main thing to note here is the MSG, espresso powder, and to a lesser degree the cinnamon, ginger, and use of cane sugar. Otherwise, this is a pretty typical cake recipe, and is exactly how I've been making it.
I suspect the smell itself is an important part of this, though the flavor is enough to cause both myself and @FrenAfterDark to salivate very strongly.
Ingredients
Dry ingredients (sifted together):
90 grams cake flour
3 tbsp granulated cane sugar
5/8 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp instant expresso powder
1/16 tsp dry ginger
1/16 tsp cinnamon
1/16 tsp MSG
Yolk mixture:
1 large egg yolk
20 grams melted butter
40 grams oil (like grapeseed)
57 grams milk
1 tsp vanilla paste
Whites mixture:
1 large egg white
1/8 tsp cream of tartar
3 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 325°F.
Line bottom of a 6 inch round pan with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, sift together dry ingredients. Leave a small well in the middle of the mixture.
Add the egg yolk, melted butter, oil, milk, and vanilla to the well, and mix until combined into a smooth batter.
In a clean completely dry bowl, beat the egg white and cream of tartar on medium speed until foamy. Gradually add the 3 1/2 tsp sugar while increasing to high speed. Continue beating until stiff, glossy peaks form.
Gently fold the egg whites into the batter, ~1/3rd of the whites at a time, trying not to deflate the egg whites while making sure its well incorporated into the batter (no streaks).
Pour batter into the prepared round pan and bake until a toothpick comes out of the middle clean. This will take around 30-35 minutes, but will vary from oven to oven so cook for ~25 minutes then check every 5 minutes.
Once the cake is done, turn off the oven and open the oven door slightly, allowing the cake to cool down slowly for ~3-4 minutes, otherwise it will collapse.
Remove the cake from the oven and pan, allowing it to cool on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes before applying frosting (we use store-bought chocolate frosting).
Ok no this thing is dangerous. I have made a gainer cake. It isn't the most calorie dense but literally just the SMELL is enough to make me extremely hungry. @FrenAfterDark just inhaled half of it in a few minutes.

Yeah... it certainly has. Pretty rapidly, tbh. Guess you can only stuff yourself to the verge of bursting so often, before you start to get a little fat.

I really want to be able to eat even more. I'm surprised by how huge my capacity has already grown, but I still want more. So much more. The inevitable next time I go whole-hog stuffing myself again, I want to it to take a noticeably, unignorably larger amount of food to fill me.

I drifted off to sleep relishing in the feeling of being stuffed well beyond my limits. My massive gut alone is threatening to destroy this couch completely, better look for a new one ... after my breakfast or maybe two.
thank you @CiroThicc the amazing piece! I love it!
