Kojima Productions and A24 are making a live-action Death Stranding film.
The partnership was announced just before the studio’s 8th anniversary.
Kojima said A24’s “innovative approach to storytelling” matches what his team has been doing, and that the movie will not be a straight translation of the game.
Instead, it is meant to create a new Death Stranding universe that works for cinema audiences as well as players.
The film is still in development with no release date.

FromSoftware has taken the Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3 servers offline on every platform.
Its player support account said it found a problem with the servers and is keeping them down until it has more information.
Both games had short, scheduled maintenance earlier this month that ended on time.
This shutdown is broader, covers every platform at once, and has no stated restoration window.
Until FromSoftware posts an update, co-op and invasions stay unavailable.
