by age 30 your circle of friends should be standing on the banks of the hyphasis river having conquered the achaemenid empire and much of the known world
What I hate about the term "NIMBY" is it's not in your backyard. It was never in your backyard. It's in somebody else's backyard. Nobody is building anything in your backyard. That doesn't happen.

When you reassemble this thread, Pangram rates it as 100% AI-generated.
Whenever people start going on about animal rights like we’re having to hear so much about in DC right now I have an experience I imagine like people have with strident pro-life activism, which is, I have no obligation to entertain your metaphysical beliefs and I don’t find them very interesting.

Hence their result:
Because billionaires leave forever, the state of California loses an infinite stream of income tax revenue.
But because the dreaded annual wealth tax never materializes, the state gains nothing in revenue (beyond the one-time tax).
This is what delivers their net loss of nearly $40 billion.

"the Tribunal determined the open market rent was"
...
This Labour government’s transformative Renters’ Rights Act empowers private renters to challenge unreasonable rent increases.
If a tenant believes a proposed rent increase is above the open-market rent, they can refer the matter to the First-tier Tribunal.
In a recent case in Manchester where the Landlord proposed an increase in rent from £1,650 per calendar month to £1,700, the Tribunal determined the open market rent was actually £1,450 per calendar month.
We’re standing up for renters and our reforms are working.

Last thing you hear before entering another decade of economic stagnation:
"GDP is just a monetary valuation."
When we bought this house I thought I would need to swap these windowed cabinet doors out. After all, if you can see into the cabinets, you have to keep them tidy.
But in fact that is not true. There is no law, and I can easily see where everything is. Now I love them.
Kitchens are a place where work happens. They are for cooking in, not looking at, and the windowed cabinets rock for being able to find shit.

Effective Mathematics: instead of thinking about math directly, you go work in finance or something, make a bunch of money, and then spend that on tokens, asking the AI to solve some unsolved math problems
There are lots of cheap places to live in this country, and it would make sense for people who cannot afford rent in new york city to be displaced to those places.
1. You should be able to develop social conventions from first principles.
2. I, personally, am unable to deduce our current social conventions from first principles.
3. Therefore I should not follow them.
(assertion #1 is false, incidentally, but that's beside the point)
