I don’t know who’s advising Art of Play, but they should demand a refund. The advice is terrible.
PR 101: don’t publicly argue with customers, celebrity or not. When a complaint goes viral, acknowledge the customer’s experience and reach out directly to resolve it. Don’t turn it into a public fight … even if you think they’re wrong.
And if you insist on arguing publicly, at least keep your story straight.
If this fallout damages the business, it won’t be because of Kelly Clarkson’s complaint. It’ll be because the owners chose the worst possible way to respond.

NFL fined 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk $14,926 for engaging in an offensive demonstration Sunday vs. Miami. “Your imitation of chugging a beer constituted an offensive demonstration and could reasonably be construed as being in poor taste,” the NFL wrote in its fine letter. Juszczyk, nicknamed “Juice”, already has appealed the fine.
