Sri Lanka leads South Asia on the 2026 Global Hunger Index with its strongest performance yet
🇱🇰 The island posts the region’s best score of 10.2, ranking 53rd worldwide and holding the moderate category
📉 It stays well ahead of Nepal at 14.5, Bangladesh at 19.2, India at 24.1 and Pakistan at 25.5
📈 Steady gains have brought the figure down from 22.1 in 2000 and 11.4 in 2018 to today’s low
🌾 Undernourishment has fallen to just 4.9% of the population alongside clearer progress on child nutrition
🌏 The result stands out against a South Asian average of 23.5 and a global score of 18.1 that has edged higher since 2018
📊 The Global Hunger Index tracks hunger through four measures: undernourishment, child stunting, child wasting and child mortality, with lower scores showing less severe hunger

I don’t like the protest nor the protesters here
But it’s their constitutional right to protest
So what the state is doing is wrong
If anyone has damaged property then they can be charged for that

after drinking 7 cups of coffee
Drinking around seven cups of tea a day is associated with a significantly lower risk of heart and vascular diseases, according to a major new study involving nearly 486,000 people in China.
Researchers found that regular tea drinkers had an 11% lower relative risk of vascular disease, with the lowest estimated risk among those consuming six to eight cups daily.
However, health experts caution that the findings do not prove tea prevents heart disease and should not be taken as a recommendation to drink seven cups a day.

Colombo Mayor Vraie Cally Balthazaar says repairs to a major drainage pipeline on Dudley Senanayake Mawatha in Borella have been completed in less than 24 hours, allowing the road to reopen to traffic.
In a social media statement, the Mayor said the disruption on Tuesday (20) was caused by a failure in a pressurised drainage main that is more than 50 years old.
She said the Colombo Municipal Council’s Drainage Division responded promptly and worked to restore the pipeline despite the age of the infrastructure and the complexity of the repairs.
Balthazaar commended municipal workers for completing the repairs within 24 hours.
“This is your tax money at work!” she said, highlighting the use of public funds to restore essential infrastructure.
The Mayor confirmed that the repairs were complete and the road had reopened to vehicular traffic. (Newswire)

Looks like they used ChatGPT to come up with the PCOB bill.
As @ambikasat stated in a recent article, “Under the PCOB a person can be deemed a member of an organised crime group based on broad, arbitrary, subjective factors.”
If we know anything about the trigger-happy, abusive Sri Lankan police, they will start harassing people based on their dress code and tattoos.
