When simulation becomes the norm, it weakens the human capacity for discernment. As a result, our social bonds close in upon themselves, forming self-referential circuits that no longer expose us to reality. We thus come to live within bubbles, impermeable to one another. Feeling threatened by anyone who is different, we grow unaccustomed to encounter and dialogue. In this way, polarization, conflict, fear and violence spread. What is at stake is not merely the risk of error, but a transformation in our very relationship with truth.

Before you judge. 1)Were you a working class child. 2) Were you the black child of immigrants.3)Did you get in to Cambridge University like she did with no advantages and plenty of disavantages as in 1 and 2? If not, shut up.

Hugest of thanks to our amazing posties @CWUSouthWalesBranch for delivering my leaflet to the over 100,000 households in the new super constituency of Pontypridd, Cynon and Merthyr. A mammoth task, but as always, you completed efficiently and quickly. #VoiceForOurValleys

My experience on the doorstep suggests momentum is building for my independent campaign to get a strong Voice for our Valleys in the Senedd. Looks like @novaramedia is ahead of the game yet again. I'm looking forward now to hearing from our mainstream media in Wales about this.

It should be a much bigger story that JD Vance flew to Hungary, stood on a campaign stage, and told voters to return a head of government widely documented for human rights abuses and democratic backsliding. Then, after his candidate lost, Vance said what had happened during the Hungarian campaign was “one of the worst examples of foreign election interference that I’ve ever seen or ever even read about.” Was he describing himself? The Hungarian people rejected it all. Democracy held, despite America’s intervention, not because of American leadership. The United States has long argued that elections should be free from outside influence. That standard should apply to everyone, including us. nytimes.com/2026/04/07/world…

This👇is quite extraordinary, showing how much Trump is uniting Europeans on all sides 𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒕 him Elly Schlein, Leader of Italy's largest opposition party, (herself 50/50🇮🇹🇺🇸) furiously condemns Trump's attacks on her opponent Meloni. The whole Chamber stands up to applaud the whole time. My English s/t👇 "Italy is a free and sovereign country. Our Constitution is clear - Italy repudiates war. No foreign Head of State has the right to attack, threaten or disrespect our country or government. We are opponents in this Chamber, but we are all Italian citizens and Italian MPs. We are asking for unanimous condemnation of these attacks and threats"

Ten years after Brexit, the UK is a divided nation frozen in time. No economic gain, culture wars, minorities scapegoated. Parties jostle over who can be more authoritarian; say little about inequalities, civil rights, public ownership, quality of life. theguardian.com/commentisfre…

My three key commitments:- 1. My Pay Shared: only taking some of the MS salary, investing the rest in our community 2. Community Ownership: help us create, own and grow our resources 3. No More Cuts: defend local services and fight for investment #votebethwinter #MyPayShared

Urgent: Nigel Farage says he barely knows Trump. He’s heard of him but he’s never campaigned for him, or modelled himself on him. He DOESN’T want photos like those attached to be circulated at a delicate time with local elections looming. Please DO NOT circulate these.

“The water industry doesn’t just expose failures in one sector. It exposes the logic of a system that has run its course - one that took water, housing, energy, care homes, the things people cannot do without, & handed them to those who extracted profit from necessity.”

Every time Jeremy Corbyn stands up and makes a speech from his place high up in the corner of the Commons chamber, you can see more and more why the Labour Party pulled out all the stops to demonise him and expel him from their ranks. He could have walked away and let others take up the fight but here he is still, courageously and defiantly lobbing devastating truth bombs towards Starmer, Cooper, Mahmood, Lammy and every one of the apologists for US and Israeli war crimes in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran. He exposes the whole rotten underbelly of this Zionist Labour government. @UKLabour @_LFI #StarmerOut

Exactly as many of us warned, Trump is dragging our country into this war & Keir Starmer has made this decision to participate without any vote in Parliament despite his past promises. Gone are the commitments that there would only be defensive action. bbc.co.uk/news/live/ce84073m…

I think that the biggest difference between the Iran war and the Vietnam war is Donald Trump knew how to get himself out of the Vietnam war.

Aiming to cut overseas workers from the NHS is a reactionary agenda. Surely the aim should be to address the staff shortages, low pay and low retention rates of all NHS workers? theguardian.com/society/2026…

Adult social care privatised since the 1980s. Local councils spend 70% of budget on it. 83% of social care controlled by private equity, 20%-40% profit margin. Will Govt end profiteering, ensure only not-for-profit entities provide care. Watch Minister's reply.
