Powerful story with @shoshonelder
The problem has never been that we tell the pioneer story. The problem is that we have too often told it as though it were the only story.
I am not a huge Phil Lyman fan but I respect him. If you Repo’s don’t pick him over Celeste you need your head examined
Proposed Box Elder County Data Center
I took this picture of Hansel Valley last summer while visiting a rancher friend of mine. This other image is what the Box Elder County Commissioners are voting to do with it😢

Now more than ever, we need leadership in Congress that will do the work to save the Great Salt Lake, protect our public lands, and preserve Utah’s beauty for generations to come. I have the track record and the passion to get it done, and I’m grateful for the support of so many, like Darren Parry, who understand firsthand the importance of this work.
As a Shoshone tribal elder and author of The Bear River Massacre: A Shoshone History, I help organizations talk about hard history, healing, and how we move forward together.
The massacre’s anniversary on January 29, it’s a powerful way to begin the new year with truth-telling.

As we prepare to pray for rain as the solution, maybe a history lesson might be more appropriate.

It’s about more than protecting Indigenous families, says @shoshonelder. Utah passing ICWA would ensure “on a deeper level, the state's commitment to honoring Indigenous sovereignty and their right to self-determine.” buff.ly/4hVqIpc

There is so much wrong with him, it’s impossible to say. (BTW, really enjoyed your Mormon stories review of American Primeval. As always, thank you for being a voice of decency and sanity in the state.
