Once upon a time, when I worked at Nokia, I had access to the most awesome TA in the world. I’d tell her roughly which city I needed to be in and roughly when, and the tickets would land in my inbox almost on time, with itineraries that just worked. I never worried about connections, layovers, transit visas or a hotel at some weird end of town. She did this for a team of 12, and her humble brag was that she paid for her own salary in the first week of every month with what she saved on fares. I tried to beat her once. Couldn’t. She stalked the damned airlines until she found the lowest fare combo. I tell you this because @SatanAtWink promised me this experience on WhatsApp, and day before yesterday he delivered this as an early access. A complete OTA behind a WhatsApp TA. I told it I needed to be in BLR on a given day before 1400 hrs, to balance comfort and fare, and to keep tracking until the fare dropped. I was at a cafe when it pinged me about a drop. Two minutes later I had a ticket. I’m telling you, I love Ona. :-) It only does travel. It doesn’t scrape any website, and it doesn’t need the keys to my kingdom. Since it has API access to an actual travel backend, it can monitor fares and tariffs in real time.
