Itβs the midterms, not a presidential election. There is no electoral college for the MIDTERMS. Your vote ABSOLUTELY matters. Get to the polls today before itβs too late, and do your research please

My vocabulary loosened up during my freshman year at Berkeley, and I was quite pleased when my mother remarked that the more educated I got, the more I sounded like a truck driver. (1969)

This is one of my favorite performances of Diamonds and Rust from the Rolling Thunder Revue tour, 1975.

I just realized I made a huge mistake here. This clip is featured in Joan Baez: I Am a Noise (2023) NOT in Martin Scorseseβs Rolling Thunder Revue documentary! All of my clips from both documentaries are in the same album so I forgot where this one was from. My apologies!

itβs really astounding just how much latin americans hate their diasporaβ¦such a shame to give borders that much power, to act as if a privilege afforded to you by the sacrifices of your parents and grandparents means you forfeit all connection to your culture.

Glad that she got to tell the full truth before she passed, but so devastating that she had to share such a large portion of her life being mentioned side by side with (and often secondary to) her rapist. The movement belongs to her. May her memory be a blessing.

iβm so tired of people who stan/follow βproblematicβ white artists and try to guilt everyone else into looking past whatever offensive things theyβve done. these are public figures not make a wish kids.

The United Farm Workers union mourns the passing and celebrates the life of UFW cofounder Dolores Huerta.
The greatest possible tribute to her life is for her work of organizing to continue. 1/
A painting of Dolores Huerta by Joan Baez, 2017.
βWhenever I was on the marches with Cesar Chavez, she was always there β young and tough and brave,β Joan says.

Legendary labor leader and civil rights activist Dolores Huerta has passed away at age 96.
She coined the phrase βSΓ, se puede,β and was a founder of the United Farm Workers Union, helping hundreds of thousands of workers achieve better working conditions since the 1960s.
Rest in Peace to the fiercely empowering Dolores Huerta.
