I'm making develop/edit tools for Nocta. You can shoot in RAW and re-develop to any preset. Plus normal editing features. I was thinking of making iOS paid and Android free, but maybe both should be free, with paid editing. But: it feels rude to lock exposure/crop. Keep free?

I want people to shoot with it, and feel like: "I like this, and want to do more, so I'll pay." But I don't want to annoy people who'd make simple edits where they have to open another app to do them. thinking $12/yr (competitors: VSCO is $29.99/year and Halide $19.99/yr)

Is this a better art direction? It's cuter. I'm still keeping the real moon phase as the shutter button. The app icon would feel a bit more icon-like. It's too bad icons have to be circles.

Tarot was a 1400's Italian parlor game deck, later associated with divination. I use them for watermarks and the B&W/color icons already. There are some nice Italian decks, maybe I should use something from Tarocco Piemontese instead xitter.cf/okdan/status/211305326…

Flip the moon phase so its a C and experiment with typefaces; option B is giving a bit too much tarot

The beta version of my camera app on iPhone has more users than the actually-published Google Play stats 😭 No wonder no one makes android apps

yes unfortunately every single person without exception that I thought asking to try my camera turned out to have an iPhone which makes sense that artist types would lean iPhone I just didn't expect there to be actually-zero Android users among them xitter.cf/CntMnteCrisco/status/2…

Are we going to end the era of "working with the garage door up"? That would be unfortunate
Question -- AI vibe clones that are sniping unreleased games, or games with demos, are apparently a thing now. How bad is the actual impact so far, and are they a genuine threat to established games, or just upcoming ones?

If you shoot just a jpg with your camera, and you want to make a crop, should Nocta make a new copy and crop that? Or destructively edit the old file? I think make a copy.

Looking great, cropping within Nocta possible?

Google photos gets around this by editing the photo but saving all the edit history to un-crop later if you want to. I don't have that kind of file history luxury I think since I'm not saving anything extra (no accounts etc), just a file and exit.

Thank you for sending me all your photos and bug reports/feedback I fixed a bunch of things, and shooting should feel snappier. Develop/Edit mode still not yet done.
Nocta iOS (beta) and Android release: • Significant rework of noise reduction. • Shooting should be faster. • Fixed memory issues with very fast shooting. • Preset Minilab reworked. • Subtler skin tones in Rampling, Pearl, Peach and Dye. • Added more back buttons in menus (sorry)

iOS Beta: testflight.apple.com/join/Jt… Google Play: play.google.com/store/apps/d… Google Play hasn't approved the release yet so it may be a day or two.

I've embraced them all, now. I've gotten 'good' at using them. But now that I can see a little farther I just reach farther. I still get the feeling: I wish I had more time. I wish there was enough time.

The only reason the library and bar and workplace are frowned upon is because people are being, have been, casual about love for so long

And if you're not casual it doesn't matter what the crowds think. "If you think you could ever love someone you should take desperate measures to reach them."
