II got to know Sir Patrick when working at the People’s Vote Campaign. He was always courteous, helpful, approachable and never made anyone feel awkward, despite the many unusual campaign requests! A true icon in public and in private. A very sad loss. bbc.com/news/live/cq23dve8dg…

I believe this will be considered one of the most important videos in US history from this time.
Electoral reform isn’t about denying parties a majority (that can still happen under PR if a party wins a majority of votes) It’s about reforming democracy, changing how we do politics & making elections fairer. Sounds like Neil would prefer Additional Member system, used in 🇩🇪
Fascinating response by Neil Kinnock from question by @lewis_goodall - it’s certainly the case that electoral reform makes majority government far harder. Kinnock offers a wider perspective.

If we're going to retrospectively punish Manchester City for fibbing can we also reverse Brexit whilst we're at it.

You can be furious about illegal migration. You can believe the small-boats crisis has been catastrophically mishandled. You can demand tougher borders.
But what exactly is achieved by taking a knife to an inflatable dinghy in the middle of the Channel while a rescue worker is still standing on it?
Hampshire Police say they are now conducting enquiries into footage relating to damage to the boat by Danny Tommo - or as his mum calls him, Daniel Thomas.

Dale Vince on Jeremy Vine, "Jim Ratcliffe is an amoral man. He made a fortune in our country. In our economy. Paid for by our taxes: education, transport, all the infrastructure that enabled him to make billions, then he ran off to a tax haven to avoid paying tax"
"I don't care what he says about Britain, he doesn't live here"
My view: Dale Vince makes an interesting point: if you choose to live elsewhere to avoid paying UK tax, should you really lecture Britain on its future?
Of course citizenship gives you the right to speak. But if you opt out of contributing, while still benefiting from Britain’s workers, customers and infrastructure, does your argument carry the same moral weight?
What do you think?

Tesco has 20,000 employees on their basic £13ph
The majority of these claim income support.
That taxpayers money should be deducted from Tesco's annual pretax profit of £2.4 BILLION
We should NOT all be helping Tesco shareholders.
Same for ALL major low pay employers.

Man Untd owner Ratcliffe is worth £17,000,000,000 and he moved to Monaco so avoids tax.
70% of the United squad who make him money come from abroad.
Why on earth is he moaning about immgiration? He is an immigrant to Monaco who makes a living from migrant footballers.

A billionaire brexiteer who lives in Monaco to save paying UK taxes should NOT be allowed to comment on the UK.
Literally voted for Brexit and left. 🤬
