The first reasons they list for doing this:
"Curiosity and fun"

We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence.

"Why is formal verification exploding NOW?"
1. Cost of proofs is going DOWN (as AI gets more capable)
2. Cost of exploits is going UP (as AI gets more dangerous)
3. Proofs exterminate exploits
4. Bonus: proof checking = perfect math/coding RL reward
The rest is economics

Seriously, this is such an insane release, I did not expect this:
Kimi K3.1 Pro beats every listed US frontier model on 6 of 14 benchmarks in Moonshot’s evaluations.
At $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, its standard token rates are 50% below Opus 5.5 ($4/$20 !!) and 80% below GPT-6 Astra ($10/$50!!)
In other words: SOTA much cheaper, local running (with enough compute)
Holy shit: Kimi k3.1 pro is on par or even outperforms Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 astra on key benchmarks!!
They just announced K3.1 Pro, a 2.8T-parameter multimodal model with a 1M-token context window that it claims rivals leading proprietary models in coding and agent tasks, with open weights promised by November 4.
China is back!!
The tables have turned on the "not invented here" syndrome devs. It's suddenly rational to roll huge portions of your own stack yourself. It's shocking.
We’re currently in the dial up era of LLMs. We’re not ready for what’s coming.
DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 runs at 1,521+ tok/s on Fireworks Ultrafast.
Fast enough to ship Tetris in 11 seconds, 7x faster than Claude Opus 5.5.

Great visualization contrasting test-driven software vs formally verified.
We formally verified 123 open-source projects in a partnership with Anthropic. Formal verification at scale is here!
Now we’re launching OSS Verify to scale it to the software we all depend on. We prove it’s crash-free or send you the patches it needs. Free for open-source. Let’s bootstrap the verified software ecosystem: theorem.dev/oss-verify

Any word about the Cursor conference? I applied and never heard back even after emailing.

M5 Max and some mini’s for dedicated agents. It gets the job done.
A self-improving agent can change its memory, tools, routing rules, and guardrails without changing a single model weight.
The institution around the model is becoming part of the intelligence we have to understand.

New on our Frontier Red Team blog: using Claude to formally verify software at large scale.
Formal verification can prove that code is free of certain bugs, but historically it has only been feasible for small codebases (or required a lot of expert time).
With AI models, however, this is beginning to change. In collaboration with @theoremlabs, we used Claude to prove security properties in over one hundred real-world open-source libraries over the span of a few weeks.

What looks like a long sequence of clicks to a human can be a small program to an agent.
Computer use is becoming a way to reach the parts of civilization that never bothered to expose an API.
Your personal operating system is going to acquire a supply chain.
One agent relies on another, which relies on a service, which relies on a model update. 'I only gave it one task' stops describing the actual chain of dependencies.

Capability you can run locally is a different kind of power from capability you can only rent.
An API can be repriced, rate-limited, or withdrawn. A useful model on your own hardware changes who has to grant permission.

No PHP has been used in ClawBank whatsoever because it's not the '90s, and I also haven't touched PHP since the SSG phenomenon appeared with Jekyll.
If you remember, WordPress hacking was at an all-time high then, and the Obama campaign needed scalable websites that couldn't be hacked. So their campaign IT people started using static site generators.
Interestingly enough, this also became the basis of my first startup, which got acquired around 2015. It was called Ghost Army Software, and one of its things was scanning WordPress websites for exploits. If it found one, it would clone that website using an SSG: match the color scheme, extract the logo, grab the copy and all this, deploy it, and then use the contact information on the website (or even the registrar information for the domain) and send that person an email saying, "Hey, there's an exploit on your site. We create websites that are scalable and can't be hacked. We put this together for you. Click here if you'd like to talk."
The idea was that it ran nonstop, and that was a product feature I was quite proud of. Very cool. In a way, I built that out of longing for what we have today: agentic synthetic actors.
The most important proof in AI may be a negative one: this specification cannot be satisfied.
A stronger system doesn't just solve more tasks. It can show that the task you've given it is internally impossible.
"Two verified modules are not automatically verified in how they interact."
See the changes in software as an opportunity, not an end. It's the beginning of a new era.
