Many people's sense of blackness comes from media consumption and racial visibility. Not from their culture, community, politics, or real-world experience. Causing them to lack a core identity. They not only use movies, film, TV, and celebrities to escape but also to fill in
and another thing, a lot of people on here don’t even want those shows and they’ll never admit it. They don’t want a black sex and the city, they just want black characters in a white show.

We can’t have a “Black” Sex & the city cause you would crucify the show. Can barely handle Joan, Toni, Issa, Molly cause “it’s not something I would do.” “She’s not relatable.” Good! It’s dramatized fiction! You want a Black “Girls,” you can barely even handle Keisha on Forever.

We are losing our time arguing with people that haven't been in an interview in years lol

Entertainment journalists need to start fact checking celebs cause they are just out here lying through their teeth. And not just about big things but small everyday things. They just make up whatever story they think sounds good for their image. It’s weird we just believe them

Much of the fashion commentary regarding Kim Kardashian is hard to take seriously, because it mostly revolves around whether you like her or not, rather than the clothes.
the concept of playing with your wife’s ex husband over playing with your band #itsStrover
The way nobody can read what I said 😭 SHES STILL LIKE THAT but her defenders rebuttal is always going to be that the tweet is old!!!!

i’m so tired of people who stan/follow “problematic” white artists and try to guilt everyone else into looking past whatever offensive things they’ve done. these are public figures not make a wish kids.
my thing abt the harriet tubman tweet is that it kinda does a disservice to keep bringing it up because it’s old when there’s /recent/ stuff that should take the precedent. we don’t need to keep referencing stuff from 10 years ago there’s stuff from like 3 months ago
we have to be real about time, the rebuttal is too easy to say “that was like 10 years ago”. when we bring up recent shit like the Gisele jokes on her podcast, that’s when we can have a conversation about her STILL being that way
