Clarissa's wonderful, and it's her birthday today! Give her a follow if you can - let's not allow the hackers to win 💛 💪
It’s my birthday!! 💛 It would be the greatest gift if you share my art! (specially after my old account being hacked…)

Little painting in my free time, trying out @XPPEN 's Deco Pro 2 that they very kindly sent me a while back. It's a lovely tablet, super comfortable to draw on, but the real deal for me is the no-cable Bluetooth connection! 😀

I've been seeing so much wonderful art for this game - maybe with a tiny bit of luck we can make it happen? chng.it/ZvfKrZgvRb

The increased scrutiny adds a lot of pressure to be perfect, to be able to not only outcompete the machine, but convince the audience that we can, in fact, draw. We should not have to prove we are authentic, but alas the corporate hellscape today requires it.

This turned into a very long rant all to say: do your research! Call out AI where you see it, and interrogate the image to spot the issues - but also, trust your artists. We hate the damn thing as much as you do.

AI is dangerous because it destroys the trust between artist and audience. When I paint, there is an unspoken social contract that I present you with the culmination of *my*skills - that I haven’t stolen, or lied about what I can do.

This is why AI destroys art communities. The alt cover is by @wyliebeckert, a wonderful traditional artist. What you see are stylistic choices tied to the medium as opposed to “mistakes”. Whilst it’s important to call out AI we must do due diligence lest it turn to a witch hunt🧵

I don’t want to go through each call-out step by step, but most are perfectly normal things that happen when you work with ink and paper. Please do your research before throwing accusations out there.
