As someone who believes the decisions we make in places of power MUST involve every single one of us, I am excited to announce my candidacy for State Representative of Michigan’s 33rd House District! These are the values that guide me, as a Palestinian refugee who grew up in childhood poverty - I understand the isolation of marginalization, and the contributions that we as a society lose out on when we only allow some of us to participate. Now, as a mom of four, researcher, educator, healthcare worker and school board member, I have made a career advocating for ALL people, especially those most vulnerable and marginalized among us. As your future state representative, I am committed to representing OUR interests. I will fight hard for: 🔹Addressing inequities impacting marginalized and vulnerable communities 🔹Exceptional PreK-12 education, and affordable postsecondary education 🔹Accessible, affordable healthcare and mental health services 🔹Environmental justice and continue to fight against climate change 🔹Fair, livable wages, affordable housing and combating inflation It’s time that we address these issues by electing people driven by community values.
