What an amazing trip down memory lane with @PaulFritschner. I loved covering Xavier hoops and getting to know so many special people. Thanks for the opportunity to revisit the beat, Paul, if only for an evening!
Shannon spent 12 seasons covering Xavier before one year at Louisville. Thanks to @slrussell for taking the time to catch up!
We covered everything in here. Give it a listen ⬇️
Had a chance to catch up today with Xavier hoops royalty @EiserXUSports for a few minutes and @PaulFritschner for quite some time. So great to be back at Cintas, it just for a short time. Many memories in that building!
You guys.
Xavier is expected to hire New Mexico's Richard Pitino as its head coach, sources told @TheFieldOf68.
The former Xavier reporter in me wants to know everything about this coaching search. What. Is. Happening.
Richly deserved. Congrats, @SFFiveTu.
From JP's technical foul to Kaiser Gates' dunks and Matt Stainbrook's Uber driving, it was just like old times. What a fun game. Last time I saw BJ Raymond was in 2008!
I enjoyed getting to know NKU staffers and seeing a different side of college sports as Interim Director of Athletic Communications, but now I'm off to a senior copywriting job here in Cincinnati. Still keeping tabs on all the sports from afar. Daisy dog says hi. Cheers!
What an incredible job by @CoachJonas to lead XU to the NIT championship. Incredible poise under pressure.
I only covered XU during Sean’s last year but I saw him from time to time in the NCAA Tourney and Maui and it was always nice to catch up. I’m so curious to see how he is now - as a coach, with media, with players - after everything that happened in Arizona. A new chapter awaits.
SM: “This will be the version of myself that I’ve ever been.” That’s it. That’s what everything will be built upon. Surely there are questions about the IARP and what’s coming, but this homecoming just makes sense.
Wow, St. Bonaventure and Mark Schmidt get it done in Charlottesville!
(Can we talk about how Olean is still the worst? No offense, Olean. But never again.)
It’s happening.
BREAKING: Sean Miller has agreed to a deal to return to Xavier, source told @Stadium.
The ex-Arizona coach spent 5 season as the head coach of Musketeers from 2004-09 and went to four NCAA tourneys — including an Elite Eight in 2008.
Miller chose Xavier over South Carolina.
