Posterior fossa syndrome - anyone able to signpost me to any SLT specific resources / papers on this? I've got some general papers but be good to look at SLT specific ones #slt #slp #neurooncology #neuro #cancer

Some Fridays you just have to leave the office acknowledging that everything is Monday's problem now and that if it was really important they would leave a voicemail. Happy weekend to all #slt well done to all of us. #mySLTday

#mySLTday morning focussed on outpatient clinic with a mix of f2f and telephone contacts followed by a couple of acute ward contacts. GBM, oesophagectomy and head and neck cancer. It's rarely ever dull. Now off home for a run swiftly followed by tea and biscuits.

This is the best advice for any SLT working in acute. I wish I could get the coffee shop to bleep me tho.
Don’t know your hospital well enough to give directions? Just do what I do and walk quickly with a concerned look so they think you’re on important business. Bonus points if you sprint with a bleep in your hand but that loses its punch when you join the coffee queue #mySLTday

Speech and Language Therapists like Sara Melhuish @RoyalSurrey are crucial to brain tumour patients & therefore crucial to the TJ Academy. SLTs can join free workshops, peer support, national networks, resources & more here: tessajowellbraincancermissio… @RCSLTLearn @RCSLT

So many new skills in such a short amount of time. If you have any questions or worries about potentially coming to a new clinical area just get in touch! I also buy massive coffees and drink them with this guy

Not a bad week on balance but another bank holiday would of been nice. 5 days in a row is a bit much! #mySLTday

Learning of the week: Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome - affects muscle contraction which can cause swallowing difficulty. Immune disorder that may be seen in older patients with lung cancer. Something to consider when thinking about vfs results #slt #cancer #oncology

From a Pt today and it meant a lot. When things got 2 much on the ward we'd talk about Terry Pratchett. They finished radiotherapy today so it was our last session. I'm going 2 use it 2 document all those little wins that it can be hard to remember #slt #oncology #mysltday #win

Working in acute oncology a common complaint from fast track Pt is their voice is quieter and they "struggle to talk". This is inline with over all deterioration /fatigue. We talk about adjusting environment / basic voice care / low tech AAC. Anyone offering anything else? #SLT
