My son Kielan Kenny has a genetic condition 22q11 deletion, his mental health is not taken seriously enough, shame on you Camhs, while we sit here and my child is hitting his head over and over, does he have to be dead before you do anything. #worldMentalHealthDay2022
Help for pychosis.
Mental health team blame neurology saying his pychosis is coming from his epilepsy,neurology are saying it’s not linked because he is not having a seizure before or after pychosis. In the meantime he is really suffering very badly.

Pychosis has to be the worst experience I have ever incountered, the whole family have to continue on this endless journey over and over again.

Pray that he sleeps through the night, which is not often the case. Pack all the food away so that if he did get up he wouldn’t be able to eat anything, his mental health is up and down, praying it won’t be bad today.

MRI of the brain under general anaesthetic for my son 22q11, Autism and mental health (today)arrived at the hospital waited 2 hours to be told the appointment is cancelled, before you think to cancel just think about what it took to get there.

OT going into second year waiting.
Myclonus in the hands difficulty eating dressing showering, gait change in the leg.Sensory needs for his Mental health. Comprehensive functional assessment needed to function in his day centre. Early intervention?

Risperidone, Quetiapine currently on Olanzapine and Aripiprazole still relapsing 3 days every week.
Should be allowed to try clozapine.
Think about the families please.

Back to square one, Olanzapine which I had high hopes for has stopped working.
Why can’t we try Clozapine, why don’t you have the staff to do regular blood checks.
This cycle never ends.

We were the same 2 years and 2 months, I kept saying it doesn’t suit him. It brought about all the sensory issues,he never had before and it was definitely Akathisia.
He wanted to drive and shower continuously.

What of other jurisdictions? My autistic son was treated by CAMHS meath east with Resperidone for years. No health checks, no supports just prescription writing. It destroyed him. He's 21 & yet to recover. They told us there was no alternative.

Just wait when you have to transfer with an adult with very complex needs.
The adult hospitals don’t make allowances for rare disease, Autism, Mental Health, moderate learning disability. Just wait your turn, waiting room full with people, left waiting until the very end.

Everyone doing their own thing. Nobody looking at the whole picture. Everyone giving there own medication, my son is overdosed on epileptic medication at the moment, falling everyday, speech is slurred,but I’m told to just keep increasing his medication and go to a&e if need be.
