In White areas, theres pretty much zero risk of being shot. In areas where there are a lot of blacks, the risk is high. But we have less than 800 gun related murders a years, and over 12,000 criminals being killed by armed victims.
People have put alternators on the driveshaft, so it being in a weird place isn't exactly new.
