Important piece @pragathi_r24 on unequal access to cooling.
Everyone in Bangalore wonders why parks are closed most of the day. Baffling given that Karnataka's #Heat Action Plan calls for opening parks in the day time for shade!
Parks in Bengaluru remain shut in the afternoons, depriving outdoor workers of necessary respite. Most of the workers belonged to marginalised castes, researchers found while assessing disproportionate heat burden. My story for @MongabayIndia
