M. O. T. I. V. A. T. I. O. N. A. L Thursdays #2 💙 Being alone in the world is tough, at times so damaging to one's mind or mental health. We were born social creatures. This is true because if one person was to be alone their entire life we would not continue to breed and re-populate this Earth. Having friends, a network, and a community is more important than ever as the ever-changing environment pushes us to be on our phones with screens shoved into our faces, attempting to isolate us and tell us that the 'social world' doesn't need to be in person. There is balance here - as being social online can bring you IRL success, alongside an IRL social life. Networking is a crucial aspect of 'making it' in the music industry. There's a stat, I'd safely estimate, of being 20x more likely to succeed if while you continue to perfect your craft - you spend a couple hours a day being social with current and new friends. With 10+ years in the industry under my belt, I've been able to see the difference between those who decide to release with no planning and be quiet vs those who take every chance they get to make new friends to not only share music with and collaborate but simply just chat. I was told in the early days by the first label that took me on, Dex of Kolossus Records (Rom, DEFFIE, Rilla Force, Negium, Gaszia, hell even EAZYBAKED), that "You must work with people your own size at every opportunity you get so you can all go further in this world together."... COMMUNITY! Make it a goal, each and every day (at least 5 days a week) to chat with 5 people and in a perfect world, meet 5 new people! Meet these people on Discord, SoundCloud comments, IG comments, Twitter comments, FB Groups... It doesn't matter but the more people that you surround yourself with who are like-minded the faster not only your growth will be but the more passion you'll have surrounding your life. It's been a trip witnessing so many strangers become friends over the years who have all fostered 'larger than life' relationships, taking them across the world to live a life they love which inspires the masses to do the same. Your dreams are possible, your goals are achievable, and you have greatness in you. 💛much love - michael
