WHY IS WORK TAXED MORE THAN UNEARNED INCOME?
Why do the less well off pay a higher percentage of their income in tax than the well off?
Why do we spend £85 billion (half of the total cost of the state pension) on pension contribution tax relief for the wealthy?
Why isn’t capital gains taxed at the same rate as income?
Let’s be clear about one thing…
THE LEVEL OF INEQUALITY IS A POLITICAL CHOICE!
It’s within the power of the government to do something about it. It hasn’t. Will it? We’ll see!
@andyburnham @JohnHealey_MP @UKLabour
IT’S A POLITICAL CHOICE NOT TO REDUCE ENERGY PRICES!
IT’S A POLITICAL CHOICE TO ALLOW ENERGY COMPANIES TO MAKE EXCESSIVE PROFITS!
So, isn’t it time we demanded an explanation for these political choices?
Our energy prices are based on the cost of the highest energy source, gas. Why? The cost of renewable energy is plummeting. It smacks of gross incompetence and putting profit before people.
WE DEMAND ACTION! We’re getting impatient. The speed of change, the speed at which things are addressed, is GLACIAL!
@andyburnham @JohnHealey_MP
THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO GROW SOME BALLS!
It’s about time the government showed who’s in charge. It shouldn’t be the financial markets or the City, but up to now it has been. Burnham and Healey need to have the courage face them down.
It can do two things. First it should end the Bank of England’s independence. It’s a joke, and it’s now just getting in the way. Its interest rate policy has pushed up the cost of living and dramatically increased the level of inequality. It’s sided with the City too, which is not good.
Second, it needs to stop creating fiscal rules. Governments do it to demonstrate fiscal prudence, which it doesn’t. What it does do is to signal to the City and financial markets that it’s not going to upset their neoliberal gravy train. It also puts itself into a straightjacket and restricts its ability to act in best interest of the country.
Burnham says he wants to step away from neoliberalism. If he ditches fiscal rules you’ll know he means business. If they remain, you’ll know nothing is going to change.
The worry remains that our political ‘masters’ are not only economic illiterates, but they lack the courage to do the right thing.

70% OF 18 - 34 YEAR OLDS - THAT’S 10 MILLION VOTERS - WANT TO REJOIN.
There’s no need for an honest discussion, the facts are staring you in the face. People want free movement - which comes when we rejoin the SM & CU - they regarded it as a privilege and they want to rejoin. Ignore this group of people at your peril! So, can you please stop pratting about and start the process. We’ve waited far too long!

ANTI SEMITISM IN SCHOOLS DEBUNKED!
There is no anti semitism in schools. The evidence behind this report was deeply flawed. This has been concocted by this Zionist Labour government to deflect criticism from Israel and its genocide in Gaza at the behest of their paymasters, in the ‘Menorah Candlestick Mafia’
Let’s look at the facts There are 10.36 million children in education in Britain of which 10,000 are Jewish - that’s 1.06%! 0h c’mon!!!
Israel is deeply embedded in this government. Totally unacceptable!

John Healey's small business accounting reforms reveal that the man has no clue what he is talking about, but has bought, lock, stock and barrel into the "government is the impediment to business" agenda, which is entirely wrong, because business cannot and never will survive without the foundations that government supplies it with. I am not amused.

THANK YOU TERRY REINTKE!
Marched alongside Terry on several occasions.
There is real hope in Europe that Britain will see sense and rejoin the EU. Actually, the British people saw sense a long time ago. The problem, our ball and chain, is our dumbass, incompetent government.
Europe needs us, we need Europe. All this dithering and prevaricating from Labour is expensive, inexcusable and utterly stupid.
Burnham’s EU meeting had better produce more than a commitment to “work more closely with the EU”. We need to rejoin the SM & CU urgently and prepare a roadmap to rejoining the EU. That’s the outcome we want from his meeting.

"Green Party's Ellie Chowns is right, this isn't just about raising defence spending, it's about all of us facing a more expensive world"
"Businesses needing an alternative to the Hormuz strait"
"Britain needing an alternative to the US as an ally"
Well said @MyStephanomics
My view:
The cheap, frictionless world we got used to depended on a remarkable amount of stability, and on risks staying out of sight.
Now those risks are arriving as higher prices, disrupted trade and uncertainty over who we can rely on.
Resilience will cost money. That means difficult choices about energy, infrastructure, defence and public services.
But the cost of having no backup can be far greater when a vital route closes or a supposedly dependable partner changes course.
Britain needs more options: stronger links with Europe and Canada, more secure energy and supply chains, and the ability to protect critical infrastructure.
The goal should be to make shocks less able to hold the country to ransom.

Will John Healey's budget be a disaster? I believe it will be. That's because he is talking as if we are living in normal times, and we are not. Events outside his control will overtake Healey's budget, and he's not ready for them. youtu.be/URAPq5We8rA?si=ptIJ…
LET’S BE CLEAR - ZIONISM IS A FORM OF RACISM AND RACIAL DISCRIMINATION!
The United Nations got it right. It was only overturned in 1991 by pressure from America - and Britain. Britain organised a strong campaign to support America’s efforts - for which it should be deeply ashamed.
Organizations like the Word Jewish Congress and the American Jewish Committee peddled the line that 3379 delegitimised Israel and incited antisemitism.
Today, Israel’s Gaza genocide, and the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people has proved to the world that Resolution 3379 was right.
Of the two protagonists who successfully campaigned for the resolution to be revoked, America has undergone state capture by Israel, and Britain’s Labour government is in thrall to the ‘Mennorah Candlestick Mob’, Mossad’s sayanim, and are bought and paid for - as is the state broadcaster, the BBC.
Britain’s Green Party’s resolution calling Zionism racism should be supported.
It’s time to bring back that UN resolution!

THE CONSEQUENCES OF AMERICA FAILING TO DEAL WITH TRUMP AND ISRAEL ARE GOING TO BE CATASTROPHIC.
Israel blackmailed Trump into attacking Iran. It’s been a disaster. Iran now controls the Strait of Hormuz. Oil and gas exports through the Strait have ceased. American bases in the Gulf States have been destroyed giving Iran power over the region.
THIS CATASTROPHE IS NOW PUSHING THE WORLD EVER CLOSER TOWARDS A DEPRESSION.
Add to that the long overdue FINANCIAL CRASH. Stock markets are seriously overvalued and a correction is needed, which will almost certainly be triggered by the bursting of the AI bubble.
THE DEPRESSION COMING DOWN THE ROAD WILL MAKE 1929 LOOK LIKE A PICNIC.
America has to act If we’re going to avoid a depression to end all depressions. Trump MUST BE REMOVED, and it has to end its military support for Israel. Time is of the essence, but America seems paralysed into inaction. The world can’t wait for the midterms. The 25th needs invoked NOW!
The chances of this happening are close to nil. So…STRAP IN!

How Britain could find £100 billion a year to rebuild its economy. All we need to do is change the tax incentives for saving in this country, and we could find the capital to build our future. So why won't the government do that? youtu.be/W7Y61uAZPVM?si=xTzf…
