quote retweeting someone's achievements to say you wanna off yourself because you feel inferior is an extremely shitty to do

recorded this a few days ago because a friend said they liked the song
@alterclad u hurt me personally btw
I've been letting myself do personal projects on weekends! It's been productive! And by that I mean I stare at a blank canvas until the guilt eats me and I get back to work
came across this I drew this a month ago when I was extremely sad and frustrated. I remember feeling like my chest was caving in on itself, but weirdly enough now I don't even remember what I had been so upset about. Next time I'll remind myself that time passes anyway.
Tiny update on this guy, I'm guessing it was tossed at the thrift store because whomever installed the screen did a lil fucky wucky that impacted the buttons -- the bumpers especially, which I didn't really notice until I started playing Harvest Moon 1/2
forcing @snuffyowo to watch Yu Yu Hakusho and quoting every other line as is tradition she's totally here willingly btw
I think this is also a good mindset to have in things outside of voice acting as well! The freelance sphere feels like this sometimes, but when you see three or four people suddenly get 'big,' there's usually all sorts of things happening inner-industry out of your view
Replying to @GalaxyZeinz
Just to give you some peace of mind, "starter" VAs are given chances across many projects...those projects take time to get to their production finish line, so it seeeeems like the waters are calm, but they're full of all kinds of talent. One thing to keep in mind as well, starter VAs aren't in the shallow waters. They're competing against other "starters", their inspirations, celebrities, masters of the craft, and everything in between.
Focus on what is within your control: your auditions. Your recording setup. Your imagination with which you paint your vocal art with each time you're behind the mic.
Because there are numerous parts of the casting process that aren't in your control: maybe your voice sounds to similar to someone else in the cast, maybe someone had a person in mind for a particular role already, maybe the producers said that x person must be used, maybe availability wasn't in line with the production schedule...all these things have and do factor into decisions.
Basically, I see a lot of comments on this platform that make it seem like the voice over industry is "against" them...and if that's the case, why would you want to be a part of something like that?
I've faced a lot of closed doors and "no's" in my career...and it does take more than seven layers of skin. And yes, while sometimes it is personal on whether I got cast in something or not - its usually for something outside of my control. So, focus on your magic and learn your spells.
