Thank you for the iMac enthusiasm, you will be pleased (or horrified) to know that I gutted it and glued on a bunch of leaves and twigs. For art purposes

It's a shame that the central arc of so many love stories is suffering, overcoming obstacles, with love itself as an afterthought at the end. The external world provides enough of that! The advice of the long married seems to always be to "marry somebody kind".
I think everyone’s lost the plot with dating tbh You’re looking for home. That’s the only point of any of it. A flickering hearth, a bountiful table, a passion that will wax and wane as unalarmingly as the moon. Deciding to love a person ideally involves the same simple blend of logic + intuition that goes into choosing a place to live: you have a short list of what you absolutely need, some things that are nice to have, but mostly it comes down to if it feels immediately instinctively NICE. When you’re paying attention to how you feel that recognition comes pretty quickly imo. People overcomplicate it a lot, mostly by trying to look to others to figure out what they should care about.

I always feel kind of funny offering commentary like this because I am a bit out of the game and realistically too busy to be dating right now. But I still like offering my two cents!!

Started drafting a tweet about “vibes” as a test of who is privy to the same correlations as you and this Stanford experiment about tapping on wood and expecting others to hear music. But I realized the TLDR is basically “your vibe attracts your tribe” so I’m just going to stop
the concept of vibes is very attractive to people because it bails you out of being precise about what's going on

Ironically, “best regards” is probably the #3 “regards” of email sign-offs. It scores directly underneath of “kind regards”, and both far below the intimate, apex, “warm regards”

Went to the bathroom at Subway and the sink was so dirty I just used the paper towel and soap and gave it a quick wipe down myself. In this life we are all offered our small plots of soil, we must tend to them and grow them beautifully…

I think that any time you start to do mental math to figure out if you should treat someone with dignity or not you are engaging in the beginnings of evil. Just be kind

actually i like dating someone who loved their ex deeply. I did, life goes on. If you are like 30 then this just happens at some point. It means they know what it's like.
modern dating is just hoping you don't accidentally uncover how deeply they loved someone before you
