Fortunately there are some honest, passionate, and scholarly apologists on both sides who show it’s possible to defend your position while still embracing the other as brother/sister. @gavinortlund and @Trent_Horn come to mind.

It only works if I can bring with me the wisdom gained since then. Also, decisions, good and bad (and there have been some clunkers), made over the last sixty+ years led me to where I am and I have no confidence any change in that arc would have had better results.
