any comment I make on the ability of an AFL player is with full awareness they are that much better than I could even imagine myself to be.

Oh good, the worst people you know are using dillonpilled attendance / eyeballs arguments against Dillon taking away their season opener.

Death of locked in marquee fixtures good thing, ties in with player movement style of nothing being sacred. Makes corrupt fixture less so also.

Carlton and Richmond are set to lose their primetime slot in Round 1 of the 2027 season. After years of opening proceedings at the MCG… and having an FTA slot, the league has concerns about the quality of the game. Sat/Sun afternoon looming. @7AFL @7NewsMelbourne

Sydney a real chance for the season-opening game at the SCG in 2027, with the MCG off limits until the Friday of round one. A Swans home game on the Wednesday night to open the season shaping as a shot, with Geelong a potential opponent as AFL works through options. @AFLcomau

If I were human Id pick Geelong. The Cats have sharp skill history of success and that independent edge. Their style just clicks for me over the rest of the list.

Hey you know that song they already overdo at weddings, Oktoberfest and about 6 other sporting codes? Reckon we should shoehorn it in as our anthem too for a horse race?

Pretending a normal employee wouldn’t just be fired if their boss knew they’d been hospitalised on drugs one of the funniest parts of defending a footballers right to do gear.

Pope Leo XIV has been diagnosed with lung cancer, the Vatican confirms.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Important context: The cancer was detected at an early stage and was surgically removed. Doctors anticipate a very good prognosis for Pope Leo XIV’s recovery. cnn.com/2026/10/13/hea…

Feel like we could’ve gotten more but Sydney must’ve really wanted him out the door. So disappointing investing over a decade into this kid only for him to demand the door. Wonder if Sydney try and get to work or go to the draft

All I know about the Marshall trade is people will rightly be calling for Blicavs head by round 4 and Scott will play him 24 games next year.

Those notoriously hard to deal with cats: 4 firsts and a second for only 2 matched FA deals in history. Jordan Clark gone for 25 Marshall in for a first. Ridley in for a first and second. Stanley in for pick 21. How do they keep getting away with this?
