By this logic, individual leftists who vote for things like abortion are not capable for when abortion gets codified into law.
GOP establishment: 1) Nick Fuentes has no influence. He’s irrelevant. 2) Nick Fuentes just ruined the midterms for the GOP. He must be stopped at all costs. I’m not an expert, but I don’t think both of these can be true at the same time. Put it in a syllogism.

Both he and his critics massively overstate his real influence, but it is a mistake to pretend he has none. The biggest criticism that should be made is not that he says crude or foul things, that he constantly flip flops, or even the behavior his creepy cultic following. Criticizing such things actually makes him more appealing to young men. You sound like an out-of-touch boomer if you do. What should he should be criticized for is that he capitalizes upon the despair of young men, manipulates their perceived lack of agency, and leads them to pointless, nihilistic, irony-poisoned ends.

Let me lay a hard truth on you, normies don’t care about his Indian kids, normies just installed Star Wars characters across the country over gas prices The right doesn’t have even close to the voice it could in this country, because instead of seeing opportunity they consistently find reasons to remain inactive You are watching your country be slowly torn apart before your eyes, and you can’t even imagine a world where you are an active participant

Imagine calling men “worthless” for praying that young Christians would be warmed and filled in peace. “Go in peace, be warmed and filled.” — James 2:16
Imagine calling men “worthless” for encouraging a young Christian toward holiness. “Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled.” — Titus 2:6 Paul calls us to encourage it. You mock me for doing it.

This is gonna be the moment, young men have a once in generation opportunity. They need to put aside their purity spirals and get involved. You have until late spring 2028 to be organized and prepared. It’s gonna require collaborative efforts across multiple lines of effort

In early 2021, Trump left office, Biden had high approval, and it looked very likely that Trump would end up in jail within the next few years. To add insult to injury, Trump was banned indefinitely from every single major social media platform and completely unable to even effectively communicate with Americans at large. Yeah these midterms were absolutely brutal, but 2026 still pales in comparison to the uphill battle that Trump and Republicans faced in 2021-2022. It won’t be easy. Hell, it might even take another miracle. But we’ve comeback from the abyss before and we can do it again. I will never blackpill.

Rush understood how the game works. He didn't actively work to help the left win just because Republicans sucked. And there are more Republicans who don't suck in 2026 than there were in 2006 by a large margin, and we have opportunities to primary bad Rs for 2028. Don't give up.
20 years ago, after Republicans suffered a blowout in the 2006 midterms, Rush Limbaugh shared a perspective many of us are feeling today: Rush: “I feel liberated, and I’m going to tell you as plainly as I can why. I no longer am going to have to carry the water for people who I don’t think deserve having their water carried… Now I’m liberated from having to constantly come in here every day and try to buck up a bunch of people who don’t deserve it, to try to carry the water and make excuses for people who don’t deserve it.”

Any talk of “ICE hype edits losing the election” is a twitter-siloed misread of the media normal people consume and care about. They irritated leftists on here, and that’s about the extent of it. The truth is that the GOP hasn’t adapted to the slopcannon era of shortform political content, not that it’s gone too far. The DNC did adapt, and it won. Right now, 90% of the things Dems and normies believe about “politics” are just not true, in a way that has never been the case before. Epstein eating babies with Trump, etc. Only a few years ago, the “piss tape” and “Russiagate” took intense national media coverage to develop as mass psychoses, and even then only really weathered discreditation among low-info olds. Now, the vast majority of things you hear from “apolitical normies” are some sort of schizophrenic lie derived from a momentary partisan event 6 months ago — something you, reader, forgot about a week after it happened because you mostly consume news on here. The GOP lost among its base because of the war, gas prices, bad PR, take your pick. But if we’re talking about media strategy, it lost swing normies that it won in ‘24 because it has consistently failed to adapt to the meta of Lindsay Clancy-style TikTok parallel-reality construction. Funnily enough, this media environment — the total death of “legacy media” and “trusted experts,” supplanted by a decentralized online hive — is the exact thing many on the Right have wished for for many years. It happened… now what? As of now, nothing: hysteria is a commodity you can buy, but Republicans aren’t investing. They seemed to have missed the part of epistemic collapse where the “validity” of ideas is totally meaningless, replaced only by their ability to gain attention as a directional signal. Trump wins nationally because he is a gravity well for media attention, a unique talent; but the GOP without him as the candidate is totally excluded from the infostream, seemingly by their own choice. Everybody laughed at the DNC buying catamites like Harry Sisson back in 2023, but that’s just part of the game now — botfarming new stock characters into the popular mind in order to run participatory ARG-style media events designed solely to drive turnout. These things don’t happen by accident, they cost money and require learned acumen. Obviously this is only one small part of the electoral environment, but it’s one that very few people seem to be talking about. Epstein hysteria, the Cornell 7, Nolan Wells, etc. probably drove Dem enthusiasm in as big a way as Iran drove GOP unenthusiasm, and it’s an angle where the GOP seems uninterested in competing.

If you were one of the people saying "this war is going to be politically catastrophic, it's going to be seen as a betrayal by the base, Trump made a huge mistake going in" you should feel vindicated today But if you were one of the people saying "this war is substantively catastrophic! Tens of thousands of Americans will die! You should go vote for Democrats to punish Trump!" you should recognize that you were hurting, not helping - and nothing about the political fallout vindicates your analysis

The situation in the GOP is that the old guard thinks Trumpism is toxic because it’s not centrist enough and the young right thinks Trumpism is toxic because it’s too soft/moderate. We ought to go to war inside the GOP and make it our own. The old guard GOP needs to be crushed; they are thrilled about yesterday’s results because they think they get their party back from Trump. Let’s not let that happen.

I will continue to eat crow, cope, seethe, etc. but a few things I'm calm about: 1. Scott Greer's thesis in Whitepill is still correct long-term 2. If we got here in two years we can go anywhere in two more 3. I believe in myself, my friends and God which means in the end I win

One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

So, to be clear, it will never be enough. Trump can make a massive change that you have been advocating for and it still isn’t a win. Let’s try giving credit where it’s due and continuing to advocate for more change instead of whatever this is.
