"We paid for it anyway." This is a common claim by the anti-@elonmusk crowd as a justification for seizing others' assets. It is false. It implies the US government gifted SpaceX money and so seizing its assets is fair. SpaceX has provided valuable services, like any other government contractor. No gifts. We don't hear you calling to nationalize Lockeed Martin, Boeing, Northrup Grumman, or Microsoft. Why? Because your post is driven by animosity, not facts or logic. Or principle. You're part of the Torches and Pitchforks Brigade. As real facts come out, I'm fairly confident we will see that SpaceX behaved appropriately, according to its terms of service, which wisely prohibit military offensive use of its products. It is also abundantly clear that SpaceX has done a great deal to support Ukraine. Far more than you, or those clamoring from the peanut gallery for Musk's head on a pike have ever done. Or ever will do. What we're seeing is a social media frenzy in advance of the midterms. Please stop playing the role of useful idiot in that misguided panic. Thank you.

Correct. Using Starlink, a civilian commercial service, for offensive drone strikes to kill people has never been allowed, nor should it be. Starshield, a different system, is controlled by the US government. What they decide to do is up to them. Ukraine military violated Starlink terms of service and used it for offensive drone strikes to kill people. That loophole was closed last week. Starlink remains critical to the defense of Ukraine, as it is the only system that cannot be jammed or blown up, at least for now. Were Starlink to be turned off, the Ukrainian front line would collapse immediately. This is NOT a threat, it is simply a statement of fact. Starlink was also crucial to preventing Russia from overrunning Ukraine in the early days of the war, as all other means of communication were destroyed or jammed by Russia. SpaceX has done more to defend Ukraine than any private company on Earth BY FAR. That said, I have nothing but UTTER CONTEMPT for the virtue-signaling evil warmongers who push for endless slaughter and offer no realistic solution to the conflict. May you burn in hell. End of story.
STARLINK WORKS THE SAME WAY ITS ALWAYS WORKED. ITS NOT A WEAPONS SYSTEM, NO MATTER HOW MUCH UKRAINE WANTS IT TO BE.

Since my feed is wall to wall Elon hate, may as well weigh in with another unfounded take. Ukraine were striking diesel refineries using drones equipped with Starlink/shield. They were disabled on Trumps orders. Defence drones also being affected was unexpected collateral.

According to Zelenskyy the same night, the pentagon failed to provide the usual intelligence regarding Russian ballistic missile launches. Again, at Trumps orders. Musk is now being used as a fall guy. There will be some show hearings where Elon gets a hard time….

The Green Party and Marama Davidson have doubled down on the Mongrel Mob controversy. Davidson says the gang patch ban will be reversed, calling it “unnecessary work that needs undoing.” Davidson also says the Greens are absolutely open to funding the Mob and other gangs for programs if they prove effective, and she has confirmed she will continue engaging with gangs and visiting their gang pads.

Name one rational reason for cancelling an hour a day of reading, writing and maths? Are Labour actually anti student and anti education? Are they trying to dumb the population down?

Good way to let all the mentally unstable firebugs know it’s go time.
This evening, an Emergency Alert has been sent to people across England and Wales as the wildfire risk remains very high. The request came directly from Fire and Rescue Services. I was in Stourbridge today and saw first-hand the devastating impact these fires have had on people’s homes and lives. Our priority now is to keep everyone safe and prevent more fires from starting. During this period of extreme heat, I’m asking everyone to take extra care. Please do not light any fires in gardens, the countryside or other open spaces, including parks, moorland and wooded areas. Our firefighters and emergency responders are working around the clock in incredibly difficult conditions. We can all help them. Please take the Emergency Alert seriously and follow the guidance in place.

Dudes taken 7 million from the health sector during his time in office.
I’m a doctor. This executive order is wrong. The President does not have the expertise to make these changes. Vaccines are overwhelmingly safe. Vaccines are effective. Vaccines DO NOT cause autism. Breaking up vaccines will mean children have to get more shots to get the same protection, not fewer shots. It will increase hesitancy and make children less safe. Parents should listen to their child’s pediatrician about vaccines rather than listening to an inaccurate executive order. This is so wrong. teapaw.org/axios/status/208688294…

On Saturday, Andrea Vance at The Post ran a big story pushing Labour's claim that National isn't hiring nurses. What she didn't tell her readers is that the facts and figures she had before she published said the exact opposite. So here are the numbers The Post had in its hands and decided readers were better off not seeing. When Labour left office, there were 2,632 nursing vacancies. Just two years later under National, there were 1,344. That is 1,288 fewer empty positions, a reduction of nearly 50%. The nurse workforce has grown from 31,739 to 35,342. More nurses are on the wards, fewer are walking out the door, and there is no hiring freeze. And the party shouting loudest about it today – the Labour Party – is the very party that owned every one of those worse numbers. They left the vacancy problem nearly twice as bad as it is now, and here they are calling the clean-up a scandal. You could not make it up. Then there is Labour's favourite line of the whole story, that the Government "saved" $200 million by deliberately leaving health jobs empty. It sounds shocking, until you find out what that money actually was. It was money already set aside to pay nurses and doctors the moment their new pay deals were signed. The deals had not been signed, so the money had not gone out the door. It was not saved and it was not pocketed. It was sitting there waiting to be paid, exactly as planned. Calling that a "saving" is like pocketing an unpaid invoice. The money is committed, it just hasn't left the account yet. We spelled all of this out for Andrea Vance before she published. She published Labour's disinformation anyway. Then look at what Andrea Vance reported. Labour's framing led the story, right there in the headline where every reader's eye lands. The figures showing things are better under National, the ones handed over in writing, were left out altogether. That cannot have been an accident. That was a choice. Let me be clear about one thing. There are still vacancies to fill, and we even pointed Andrea Vance to my Letter of Expectations directing Health New Zealand to move faster to fill them. But leaving out the improvement and telling readers things are going backwards is not balanced reporting. It is the version Labour is selling, and The Post chose to run it. New Zealanders deserve to know the healthcare system is improving. What they do not deserve is a scare story the facts do not support. Facts The Post had in front of it the whole time.

Ladies and gentlemen, please observe this blatant regulatory capture attempt. It’ll work spectacularly well on the easily spooked elderly people running the government.
🚨ANTHROPIC CEO: OPEN SOURCE AI IS GETTING DANGEROUS Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei told lawmakers that open-source AI is moving down a “very dangerous path.” His warns that once powerful models are released openly, companies lose the ability to monitor misuse, revoke access, or update safety guardrails.
