Watching Ace Bailey - Would say this is an example of why *subjective* scouting is important.
The goal is to see what a player does well, and what they *could* be.
In a time where there are so many predicative metrics, subjective scouting & projection still a major piece of the puzzle.
A player’s label entering the league is not binding, it’s just calls from an echo chamber.

Luka is an incredible talent.
However, if the game was officiated correctly and not for ratings, he would average 17 a night.
Can’t touch the man. If you commit to his stepback he jumps into you and flops, if you don’t he hits it.
The new Harden, but worse.

I’ve said it time and time again, we are in the era of some of the worst people analyzing basketball. Anybody with a brain could tell you he was gonna struggle a little bit due to the fact he’s not getting nowhere the amount of attention he should be getting. Him and Dybantsa went to some of the worst places they possibly could for development. Acuff gets to put 30 shots a game and learn through his mistakes while Darryn is being deferred to. Dybantsa will go through very similar things once he’s back.

Jonathan Kuminga got called a losing player & had ape memes made about him because he scoffed at getting DNP-CDs for weeks on end; playing behind players that he's frankly better than.

My goodness… it looks bad cause of impact, but I’m being optimistic it’s not as bad as it looks😭.
I have a feeling that this could be better than what it looks.
Nonetheless 🙏🙏
