Inflation is seen not only through an increase in the general price level but in the substitution of the superior with the inferior. What they call money today, which is itself a type of good, is increasingly an inferior substitute.

Clearly this applies to super intelligence and robotics. We should export whatever can be produced with it and in order to insure the incentives favor it, we must import much less.

There are many reasons a project can fail. Permits is only one.

That’s because an individual going from chat to agent usage is like 50x short term and much more longer term.

Yup. Secrets only buy time. You need to continually innovate now.

Systems may be compared according to the quality of leaders they produce. A democratic system can produce good leaders. But one can imagine other systems doing so. I am coming to think that the quality of the demos matters more than the manner by which leaders are selected.

Would they be willing to put all their IT on one platform rather than pay six subscriptions? Because they can.

Yes the application layer is wild right now

I think most will wait for whatever Microsoft serves up eventually, especially if they are asset heavy and do not require innovation or speed to compete. Many perceive their advantage in brand, long term contracts, facilities, financing, etc., where AI does not provide advantage. These companies will likely only adopt as cost savings measures under market pressure.

The reason is that more substantial change is required for most workflows and roles to benefit from AI than for purely technical work. The more something resembles software development the faster it is to benefit. What will ultimately happen is most IT systems will convert to something new over about 5 years. This greatly advantages smaller companies and teams without legacy infrastructure. S&P 493 is defined by legacy systems. It could be a system implemented this year but it is legacy if it wasn’t designed to incorporate AI from the beginning. Really running AI across all functions production, accounting, sales and marketing, etc, requires integrated platforms as well as new workflows and interfaces that existing workers will find unfamiliar. I’m aiming to train the generation entering the workforce rather than convert midcareer people. The smart midcareer people will pick up fast. Many will resist.

All he has to do is ask her why she wears lipstick. 5 whys because her first and second answer will certainly deflect. If she concedes on the 3rd why, it’s just a fun game, an intellectual flirtation. If she takes all 5 to concede biological basis, she’s lost in verbal delusion.

Privatize profit while socializing cost/risk. That is the dominant debt-based “fiat” money business model especially in the advanced stage as we have now. You find many variations on this.

Why was it closed for so long? What are the operational challenges of cross border traffic and the concerns from China and NK? Is it mostly about preventing unauthorized migration ?

I cannot speak to Europe or the UK but in America and some Asian countries, upwardly mobile parents who prioritize education often with a competitive mindset definitely try to stimulate and develop their children’s capacities. Are there such kind of people in the UK or Europe? Techniques include stimulating toys, music, conversation (using words with them not echoing baby babble), and enriching private pre-Ks or activities where appropriate, and definitely lots of books and manipulative things. High-agency parents generally would not leave the task entirely up to “the system” even if they believe in and utilize it. Tracking is also I big deal. For example our eldest was selected from Kindergarten for a “school within the school” based on early psychometric testing which we paid for out of pocket. You can wait for “the system” to decide your child is worthy or if you know as we did (because we were closely following and stimulating his progress) you just do what is necessary to obtain the resources. In America, it is accepted that you must advocate for yourself or your child or loved one when navigating any institution. Institutions do not “take care of us” or at least they need your help to be maximally effective. This includes schools, hospitals or really any bureaucracy.

If I would have tweeted in 2011 when I first heard about bitcoin it would have been, “not another alt currency system — this will surely fail with the creators in jail like all the others”

I’m sorry for your loss CJ. It is a great blessing to have an encouraging father. I lost mine 3 years ago and I miss him. How wonderful that bitcoin brought you together in business.

Yes we continue to do business with them. Great to see their progress. I remember listening to a podcast with @Leishman five or six years ago and thinking he will do well. Strangely I remember specifically where I was walking in Condado in PR when I had that thought.

Reading and writing are skills that are built on a foundation of attention, fine motor control, vocabulary and such that is most certainly cultivated at home. Some families pursue this diligently with vigor. Others haphazardly or not at all. Who teaches parenting to parents?
