I think Uniswap's new Aggregator Hooks are a pretty interesting development, especially when you look at how DEXs are competing for volume these days. Basically, @Uniswap v4 can now access liquidity from external DEXs like Curve, Fluid, and PancakeSwap through hooks. Seven external liquidity sources are supported at launch, covering more than 90% of DEX activity across Ethereum, Base, and Robinhood Chain. What I find interesting is that swaps using this external liquidity can also generate protocol fees for Uniswap, which contribute to UNI burns. So Uniswap can now capture value from liquidity that it doesn't actually have to attract or maintain itself. Of course, this isn't necessarily bad for the DEXs providing that liquidity. They still benefit from the trading volume and associated fees, while Uniswap effectively becomes another distribution channel for their pools. But I think there's a more interesting development here. Uniswap has processed over $4.5 trillion in trading volume and has some of the deepest liquidity pools in DeFi, yet even they're moving further toward aggregation. We've seen this play out with Jupiter on Solana, where a large share of trading volume gets routed through an aggregator while the underlying DEXs continue providing the liquidity. It's a good example of how the infrastructure providing liquidity and the applications directing trades toward it can develop into two different businesses. And this makes me wonder how relevant Uniswap's own frontend will become. Uniswap is already integrated into countless wallets and aggregators, and plenty of users interact with its liquidity without ever visiting its website. Aggregator Hooks could make its frontend more competitive by offering better execution, but the more interesting opportunity might be allowing other applications to integrate this functionality directly through Uniswap v4. I also think there's something worth discussing about Uniswap's strategy here. Under UNIfication, Uniswap Labs committed to eliminating separate interface, wallet, and API fees while focusing on protocol revenue and UNI burns. Aggregator Hooks fit pretty well into that approach, because they allow Uniswap to earn protocol fees from a larger set of liquidity sources. I'm curious how much additional volume this will actually bring to Uniswap's frontend, and how much value the protocol can capture from external liquidity without making those routes less competitive on price.
one of the coolest hooks we've shipped aggregator hooks wrap liquidity pools from other DEXs and turn them into uniswap pools (routing even treats them as native liquidity) any swaps through aggregator hooks also pay protocol fees, which burn UNI

If you've integrated @THORChain, you know what one venue takes: inbound addresses, memos, quotes, status tracking. RAVN puts about 20 venues, THORChain included, behind one API. Native BTC, Solana and 15 EVM chains, every route raced on what your user receives. Add your own fee on top. You keep 60%.

Locked in for @Solana Breakpoint. ETHCC was awesome this year and #Token2049 had excellent side events. Solana has always been my favourite blockchain because it's the people's chain, and at a time when gas fees on ETH were insanely high, Solana was the chain for retailers. Always looking to make new friends, connect with other founders and builders, and connect you to the right people in my network to take those monkeys off your back. See you at #solanabreakpoint #cryptosideeventsUK in London

You've probably used THORChain without knowing it. Wallets, aggregators and apps route through it every day. ⚡

UPDATE: It appears @tether has unfrozen THORChain addresses. Trading/etc will resume soon
It appears that USDT has chosen to blacklist THORChain vaults of USDT on the TRON blockchain. This is unprecedented in our industry and raises questions for all DeFi protocols about the safety of this asset.

Zcash has seen $1B+ trading days. Most of that volume ran through centralized exchanges. Now you can swap $ZEC on the leading Bitcoin DEX. No KYC, fully censorship resistant. Next step: becoming the home of Zcash trading too.⚡️ blog.thorchain.org/bringing-…

. @CBarraford did amazing in the most hostile ambush ever and they couldn't even find a way to clip him to make him look bad despite doing the most; it actually won me over to the THORchain side of this "debate" whereas I was a bit skeptical before . . .

THORChain's data is all onchain. Reading it is the hard part. @BooneW built 16 dashboards to fix that, from pool efficiency to node votes, and picked the five metrics he trusts most. blog.thorchain.org/introduci…

The $ZEC pool is now live on THORChain. The network churned and every node is watching the Zcash chain. @Zcash now has a truly permissionless venue. Trading is the next step. Liquidity is shallow for now and will grow over time, so trade with caution in the early days.

About 92% of Ethereum DEX volume now routes through private order flow. This has helped quell the number of sandwich attacks since the late-2023 epidemic. Still, more than 12,000 Ethereum wallets get sandwiched every week. @THORChain had the idea to make these attacks economically unviable at the protocol level, something the Ethereum Foundation is now tackling head-on. Check out this new spotlight by @seb22n on where private routing leaks and how THORChain prices sandwiching out: defillama.com/research/spotl…

I've been livestreaming for 5 years, but always for other projects, so I started my own, and just 5 episodes in, we're getting those unlived lives out there. 70% of people hate their jobs, 20% dislike them, but @TaraAnnison is surely in that Top 10% for she never lets herself get too comfortable. Here's the trailer, full episode drops tomorrow.
Just wrapped up The Life You Never Lived Podcast with @TaraAnnison from @rhinofi about Uncomfortable Success, Bitcoin the "antique", why jump from startup to startup, forever building, and never getting overly comfortable. Here are the hot takes, the full episode comes out tomorrow. We love to interview founders, builders, and people with awesome lives. Lives very few of us live, but wish we could.

Not another rehearsed founder story, I want to learn what built @KentonC137 Crypto portfolio management, head of marketing @THORChain and risk management are what he does, but I want to hear the story none of us got to hear before: "What's the price of such a free life?" We're talking money, independence, identity, relationships, and whether being such a contrarian can become its own kind of prison. He's living the life others can only dream about, and this is his story with the lessons learned, the failures, successes, and how he got to where he is today 👇 xitter.cf/i/broadcasts/1jGXgBDze…
