From The Yard to the world stage.
What began as an introduction to stepping on Howard University's campus became a global celebration of rhythm, culture, and tradition.
Howard alumnus C. Brian Williams, founder of Step Afrika!, has spent decades elevating the art of stepping, honoring its African American roots, and inspiring generations through performance, education, and community service.
Now, his acclaimed company returns to Arena Stage with The Fruits of Our Labor, continuing a legacy of cultural storytelling that traces part of its inspiration back to The Mecca.

The Saints could not establish the run game in Paris, averaging just 1.06 yards per rush.
QB Tyler Shough was their leading rusher with just 7 yards. The Saints are the first team without a 10-yard rusher in a game since the Bucs in Week 4 of the 2022 season. 😬

Not sure where the answers are with the saints run game. It’s gone from bad to completely unacceptable. They have the bye week to get that fixed before the season slips away.
Great job by the local authorities to keep everything under control in Paris tonight. The rain certainly helped dampen things for the agitators (pun intended.) All in all, most people’s worst fears were averted.
I stopped to talk to a young Frenchman who worked at a creperie here in Paris. I asked him about the nature of the protests. (I’m a reporter at heart.) He told me he is a student and that they are really dissatisfied with the resources dedicated to their education here. He said he does not feel that they are being prepared for the future. While some of them may be contributing to the chaos, it seems that anarchists and opportunists are the main ones exploiting the situation, causing violence and looting, and clashing with police.
Also talked to an uber driver who told us to enjoy the early part of the day to do whatever we liked, because there would be more chaos and closings after the sun went down. That’s how it has played out. But it appears that the police have things under control, based on live tv reports. Lots of standing around and standoffs but no large scale out of control uprisings.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, New Orleans Saints owner Gayle Benson, Pittsburgh Steelers owner Art Rooney met for two hours today with president Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace today to discuss plans for Sunday's historic game at Stade de France and engage in developing NFL growth opportunities in France.
It’s starting to get crazy in some areas now, according to tv news reports. But without an intimate knowledge of the area, it’s hard to tell exactly where the hot spots are.
When I was 17, my high school, St. Augustine, played in Baton Rouge. Dale Brown was there to recruit our star forward, Donald Royal. I asked him for an interview for our school paper. He was very gracious and answered all of my questions. It was the first big interview I ever had published. I will always remember Coach Brown’s kindness to a kid reporter. RIP 🙏🏾
The LSU Basketball family is saddened to announce the passing of legendary coach Dale Brown at the age of 90.

Just walked 2 miles through Paris. There seems to be some level of anxiety about the protests. Lots of shops boarded up, and a tremendous police presence. But so far, there has been no sign of any trouble. Hopefully it remains that way.
