You can’t win or lose in the count. It’s not a football game with an outcome yet to be determined. It’s the slow unwrapping of a present, the awaiting of knowing the actual and unchangeable state of the world.

A reminder that there’s no horserace aspect to counting votes. No one “pulls ahead” in the count or “makes up ground” or “loses their lead” in any real sense. It’s just an artifact of the process, the order in which votes are counted, an order part mandated and part random.

the irony that when mary oliver asked “what are you going to do with your one wild and precious life” she was simply going to pay attention to the world! simply kneel in the grass and watch a grasshopper! and now it’s used in the context of productivity as ~a motivational quote~

Abbott could pay his way thru college waiting tables bc the state contributed MUCH more & tuition was LOT less. Under Abbott, state has con’t to ⬇️ contribution to now merely 10%. He’s giving taxpayer $ to corporate tax breaks instead. Vote for @BetoORourke to right this ship.
