Bioware got me into d&d. Into roleplaying in general. Playing Baldur's Gate back in the day and witnessing the era of 3D coming in with KOTOR and Neverwinter Nights was a some of the best memories I had in gaming.
Lots of taste comes from old Bioware.
I wish things were different, but re-educating people who had limited patience and too much choice on stuff like 'gender politics' and pushing agendas for something completely displaced from what the customer wants brought us to this point.
This is a wake up call for the industry!
Farewell Bioware and may we learn to never repeat this mistake again.
🌸After the rain, there's that morning dew and slight fog with a lovely breeze.
The weather system is almost complete, some optimizations still needed.
If there's interest, I'll release the weather system as a spawn mod.
Also, should I make a new X just for Ancestral Throne?
Seems like folks don't enjoy looking at it much here, then again it doesn't show it to the right people...
C'mon algo, show this to folks who like beautiful games and xianxia!
⛈️ LIGHTNING strikes the tree!
🌸 This is Ancestral Throne, a new hybrid online action RPG/City builder set in a xianxia mythical realm filled with beauty.
In this new thunderstorm system I'm building on @spawn / webGPU, lightning can strike anything at any moment, following common scientific facts + some fantasy, since it's a fantasy realm.
The sheens and water ripples on the ground are progressing well, and the frame costs aren't too high, although optimization is still needed.
Opus 5.5 is handling base math and physics, with Astra bugfixing.
I'm also employing Gemini 4 Argon to prototype new story slices, base descriptors, items, and plot elements. They're all based off my notes about this world written over the past 5 years.
We're getting there. Slowly but surely.
Alpha looking likely this year.
🌸 Building a realistic weather system for @spawn
Very applicable to Ancestral Throne, my xianxia game, but very universal too.
Snowfall is almost finished, realistic, snow piles up.
Powered by webGPU in browser.
Skip to 02:00-ish to see how it looks when snow piles up! ❄️
Transitional periods are tough. But the reality is - world will be a better place once the dust settles.
Value always flows and goes somewhere. It changes forms. It never disappears.
Therefore, I simply hope people can embrace the glorious era we're entering and do their best to adapt.
Right now we're in the arbitrage period. The fast ones make it thanks to inefficiencies.
But make no mistake, there will come a time to soon where everything and anything digital will be solved and the EV just move incredibly quickly to the material world.
Are we AAA yet?
🌸 Showcasing the power of WebGPU for Ancestral Throne, my upcoming MMO/city sim hybrid.
Runs in the browser. Phone native too.
This is what @spawn gets you right out of the box. Seriously. Don't believe me? Try it.
1440p, recorded at 30fps. Still looks great imo.
It is not a one shot. Not a showcase demo. It's a real game under development that went through 20k iterations since its inception.
We continue the search for true beauty. Follow me as we explore it together and make a world that's so beautiful it becomes irresistible!
🌸Ancestral Throne finally has day/night cycles.
I sometimes simply walk the world I created like this because it's too beautiful. I can't wait to share it with everyone!
It isn't optimized for night time though - some areas are too dark, so it's more for just to enjoy the scenic views, or own city at night.
Pushing @spawn engine to its limits in showcasing beauty. It gets better every day. The hard limits of the browser are coming, and I intend to extract maximum value it brings.
🌸Introducing the cast & crew of Ancestral Throne!
Models are a work in progress and currently one of my main occupation with Opus 5.5 and Savi (spawn's agent builder) but you'll get the sense of direction here.
Ancestral Throne is a unique MMORPG/City builder hybrid on @spawn
I'm working tirelessly 14 hours a day together with some 40 agents to make it playable within a reasonable timeframe but complex games such as this are just a really tough cookie to crack!
Stay tuned!
V2 of my hybrid game, update 3.
Another player came to bother my citizens in my humble village flashing moves and dodges.
This is Ancestral Throne, a hybrid online RPG mixed with town simulation I'm building on @spawn
Heroes are as big as any simulated NPC in town but they can be quite flashy. The duels between sufficiently powerful heroes is quite a spectacle.
As a governor, you play from an isometric top-down perspective as shown.
But if you choose to be a hero, you'll play the classic third-person view as seen in some of my previous clips.
Practicing aerial combos. I suck so hard at my own game.
The AI powering the assistant builder, Savi is actually Opus 5.5 and is absolutely amazing at level design.
This is just a sneak peak of what's gonna be possible in combat. Way more than this coming.
I'll bring xianxia anime to life!
Building something beautiful on @spawn
V2 is coming soon. Reworked the entire game from scratch, adding HD assets, more fluid combat system, improvements to simulation and a lot more.
I've been silent for a week rebuilding it. Hopefully this time it'll be stable and functional enough to release to the public.
A lot of stuff needs fixing, but we'll get there!
3% of $200 pro plan usage for 8h of work with 4 6.1 sol xhigh workers.
Testing now with fast.
Dot is the key. 🔑
OpenAI's sweetened deal is way more sweeter regardless of the 50% cuts.
Dot (Astra) managing a team of Sol 6.1 high or xhigh + dot acting as a reviewer and QC = almost 0 drain on usage + many tasks accomplished.
I told you oai would make it usable. We just had to figure out the formula!
Still waiting for ultrafast on non Astras.

i gave 30 people admin powers over reality and now goku is fighting a giant duck.
everyone had their own Savi building whatever they asked for in the same world, while everyone else was playing in it.
aliens showed up. the sea turned red. people on phones and potato laptops kept adding to the chaos. no lag.
this is why i’m building spawn. you and your friends can spend hours going “wait what if…” and actually play whatever happens next.
this was just a stress test. i’m doing it for real this weekend.
i’m doing it for real this weekend. reply with what you’d add and i’ll invite you.
A few things most forget about Google - before you write them off:
1) their foundational models power image gen, video Gen and voice - all of which were top notch at a time + NB is still the standard
2) traditionally Gemini models were damn good at writing, creative writing and right now we don't have a good creative model - fable is out there yes but most focus was on code which makes them less creative
3) cheap. They're going after 6.1 sol and it seems that's gonna be the new metric to chase. We'll see if $/task will be as good
Bonus) it was Google big brains that stated the Transformer revolution. They know their stuff. Never write off Deepmind.
Can't wait to try this Argon out.
We continue building beautiful things!
Cloth interaction. I need pretty characters so this is a must.
In a world where powerful characters fly while their outfit flutters around like silk, simple Tripo meshes/textures won't cut it.
Opus 5.5 design/rig, Astra physics.
Okay okay OpenAI didn't fumble the deal completely. Listen to me:
1) the new plans MULTIPLY off Plus use - which means if PLUS gets better they all do
2) 6.1 Sol has an enormous discount on cache read which is what BURNS USAGE the most, hands down. They made it practically almost free!
3) Ultrafast gives 8x the speed for 6x the price. Combine this with the other perks and you might get the biggest superpower productivity that exists. Nothing else out there even comes close to 750tok/s.
Dunno about you but I'm gonna give oai the benefit of the doubt before I judge.
Another 50% on top of already extremely token hungry Astra will require a miracle of announcements to make it worth it.
I still believe they'll be able to sweeten the deal tomorrow!
Let's wait and see!
Hi,
Tomorrow we are re-opening the Pro $200 subscriptions to new subscribers, but together with it we are also changing how we calculate the usage for it. In effect, if you do the math, it will net out at half the dollar in API spend compared to the old Pro $200 plan.
Now that it's said, let me explain why this is happening and why you will still get more work done than if you were on the Pro $200 subscription one month ago.
(a) We didn't want to compromise in other ways and are committing to not reintroducing the 5h limit, so that you can fully use the weekly usage when you want.
(b) On the subscription, we guarantee that over time you always get more work done and with an increasing level of quality. This means that you will continue to get more value per dollar spent as a result of models getting more efficient and us passing down the improvements in the form of API price reductions.
(c) We don't want to put an incentive on ourselves to artificially inflate the API list prices to make it look like you are getting a lot (and workaround it through discounts, etc). Instead we want to continue to both rapidly reduce prices and increase capabilities of models on the API. This week we introduced GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna at 50% of their previous price. Over time, we see prices go low enough that it makes sense for most to buy usage as needed without there being a significant gap between what you get in a subscription and what you get in the API for a dollar spent.
(d) Tomorrow, we are adding more things to the subscription that won't draw on the usage, I won't reveal what that is yet.
I wanted to be transparent before all the big announcements tomorrow. Lots of new exciting things are coming to the subscriptions that will make it super compelling, but I wanted to make sure to share this change ahead of time so you can all understand it before we shower you with good news.
Codexingly,
Tibo
Building a hybrid MMORPG / Simulation - first of its kind. Let's make it official!
Most stuff you see is made by Astra and Opus 5.5.
It's a true living city, with all the NPCs you see being simulated. They're your neighbours, or your loyal subjects... perhaps even rivals. Depends on how you play.
Powered by @spawn, absolutely amazing community of builders and players with a full on liveops on demand. Nothing quite like it anywhere.
Plenty of quests to keep heroes busy, and plenty of management challenges to keep governors even busier!
New dungeon and boss mechanics under construction.
Will try to showcase progress daily or at least every other day.
Combat + solo dungeon first experience - very rough, very early tons of bugs, but it's a work in progress.
@spawn is the backend/infra - fully online. Party play coming soon.
Code/art executed by Opus 5.5 (Savi), Astra and Grok 4.7
What do you think? Something you'd play?
