It's awesome that runway makes beautiful products and has "tasteful" marketing but i think the most underrated part of their "taste" is that it's been consistent for basically 8 years. There has been no following the current vibe of tech, no speaking out of both sides of the mouth, no meaningful slip ups or stupid things said by leaders in the org. Just 8 years of navigating an incredibly sensitive and complex dynamic of bringing AI to creativity and doing it with authenticity, integrity, and a sense of humanity and reason that is so rare and at times feels like not the dominant strategy in tech. We think a lot about the underrated traits that create durable companies across multiple cycles, and I think this consistency is one of them.
We don’t need to scream. We don’t need to cross lines. We don’t need to sell our soul. We just want to build something worth using.

Looking forward to visiting Italy next week to unveil our autonomous Fiat 500e and Maserati Grecale with Stellantis 🇮🇹 Inspiring to see the Wayve AI Driver generalise to these new vehicles on the beautiful streets of Italy. Join us for a test ride!
We’re excited to give people the chance to experience the latest integration of the Wayve AI Driver in the STLA AutoDrive platform. Building on the Jeep Grand Cherokee development vehicle showcased at @Stellantis' Investor Day in May, our engineering teams have now extended the same core AI driving foundation across two new vehicle platforms and brands - the iconic all-electric @fiat 500e city car and the luxury SUV @Maserati_HQ Grecale, enabling hands-free supervised driving (L2++) that makes mobility safer, simpler and more intuitive. This is another demonstration of the adaptability of our AI Driver, driving zero-shot on the streets of Turin - a city it had never experienced before. 🇮🇹 Read more: media.stellantis.com/em-en/c…

I have often said that humanoids make the most sense in areas in which you are looking at the cost of human life, not just of human labor. In our conversations it became clear that @SandorFelber and I aligned very much on protecting humans across some of the most dangerous conditions in the world. We're excited and privileged @compoundvc to partner with the Minerva team.
Meet Roger, the humanoid purpose-built to protect human life in the most dangerous jobs across energy and public safety. The experts stay safe and in control. Roger goes in. No full autonomy needed. Roger takes the risk. They get the job done. Idea to walking in 5 months.

September was our biggest month ever for subscriptions and for credits. A lot more we have in store that’s coming to a POS near you in Q4.
NEW: Top SaaS Vendors on Ramp (Oct 2026) We clearly see AI spend pulled in two different directions. On the downside, new and cheaper models are pushing AI spend down. Jev captured an entire percentage point of market adoption within a month (unheard of growth). And routers continue to gain. On the upside, the increased adoption of expensive image and video generation models will push AI spend up, like Higgsfield and Runway.

There are pivotal times in the company building journey where you must light a fire. Sometimes that means burning a bridge so there's no going back. Other times it means burning down what you've built and starting over. We have found @compoundvc that sometimes founders need to hear that it is okay to do so in either scenario. A slight nudge, word of support, or gesture that allows them to do what they know they need to do even if it feels scary. We made these lighters for our founders to make that gesture and support more explicit, no matter where the flames take us.

Today @wayve_ai and @MercedesBenz are announcing a global strategic partnership! Through this definitive production agreement, we’ll bring our AI Driver to future Mercedes-Benz vehicles starting in the next two years. This is the world's first integration of the Wayve AI Driver in the premium segment and is the third production deal we’ve announced for consumer cars in the last 9 months. It builds on Mercedes’ strategic investment in our Series D and years of technical collaboration between our teams. Mercedes is an iconic company with a strong reputation for automotive innovation and engineering excellence - they built the world's first car in 1886! I couldn’t be prouder to build the future of autonomous driving together. Thank you to the entire Mercedes team. Read more here: wayve.ai/press/wayve-mercede…

To understand where Runway is going, you need to understand two things: 1. Soon everything you see on a screen, and eventually everything a robot sees, will likely be generated on the fly by a model. The frontier is already moving from generating code, language, and content to generating worlds. This is an expansive frontier. 2. If you believe this, you play an infinite game, and that requires a different strategy than a finite one. An underappreciated part of building a company is that the game horizon you choose attracts a distinct kind of person to work on a distinct type of problem.

Today we’re announcing we’ve raised $20M in seed financing led by @QuietCapital , with participation from @GradientVC , @haystackvc and @CompoundVC and other amazing folks to build the verification layer for AI-driven biology. We are also delighted to be welcoming @vqctran who is joining us from @GoogleDeepMind as a co-founder. AI is not going to cure all diseases without a verification substrate - a scalable environment where models can test predictions and learn against living human biology. AI is becoming increasingly capable of generating biological hypotheses, therapeutic candidates and experimental designs. But generating ideas is advancing much faster than our ability to test what those ideas will actually do in human biology. Existing systems force a tradeoff: the most biologically relevant approaches are slow and expensive, while faster in vitro and computational systems often lack the fidelity needed to capture human response. Polyphron’s bet is that tissue is the fastest, cheapest, most parallelizable verification substrate that still contains the biology that matters and we believe the path to biological superintelligence runs through closed-loop interaction with these living and simulated human systems. Thank you to @axios for covering the announcement. Link to our new website in the thread.

We're hosting a research day in SF. You should come if you're building a data factory of some kind.
Data sales is one of the most important areas in AI today. It matters both for improved model performance, realizing true AI world models and especially for deeptech startups that now have a new monetization path. However, the best way to build companies and durable revenue streams around data sales in deeptech areas is largely unsolved outside of Mercor and Scale. We @CompoundVC have a very clear thesis for what platform <> data sales alignment looks like in biotech. Namely that companies shouldn't go significantly off their core path to sell data to frontier labs. We also believe that only biologically complex and general platforms make sense as data providers in the long term. This thesis is only one part of the puzzle. There's a whole world of materials, energy, health, and robotics that are still figuring out durable sales too that we want to discuss in depth. At this Compound Research Day on Data Factories we will have several deeptech companies (including in bio!) showcase their data generation platforms, specifically focusing on data novelty and scale for model training. Operators at frontier and neolabs will also be in attendance and speak. Join us to discuss one of the most consequential areas in AI! (We're still building out the speaker list so let us know if you'd like to present.)

We are sharing a major update to our General World Models efforts. GWM Worlds 2 can generate full, interactive, real-time video simulations in one continuous 720p stream at 24 fps and audio at 48000 Hz, responding to your inputs as you explore. It is the first world model that generalizes to arbitrary actions rather than a fixed set of actions or just navigation. Dynamic actions are what actually matter for building gaming and interactive experiences, and for training agents in these simulations. We also introduced WorldPrompt, a way to tell GWM-2 that a world can be split into two kinds of state: what persists and what changes over time. For example: persistent gravity, physics, and light, alongside actions that describe movement, gestures, object interactions, speech, and sound.
Today, we're sharing new research on GWM Worlds 2. Our latest General World Model that generates interactive real-time simulations in continuous 720p video at 24 fps with 48000 Hz audio. Built on top of our foundational audio-visual generation model, GWM Worlds 2 allows you to define the environment, subjects, visual style, physical rules and ambience of any world. Once inside, you steer it with text actions addressed to any subject or to the scene itself, alongside continuous camera motion. The world continues from each new input instead of following a fixed clip or script so sessions have no preset length. GWM Worlds 2 creates a new foundation for interactive entertainment, virtual characters, robotics and embodied-agent simulation. Learn more about GWM Worlds 2 at the link below.
