🔥🔥🔥🔥 for THE DOG STARS 🎞️
A deadly flu virus means TEOTWAWKI. A small cast of survivors including Josh Brolin, who's so good in these kind of scenarios, try to find a reason to keep on fighting and living. Now and again a bit schmaltzy, but still doable for me.
My only complaint was the 'nudging' about flu vaccines, but it was only 3 times that I noticed.
Here's where to watch, cast, trailer, etc!

Sometimes actors and roles come along that make a difference, they influence you and rise above the role. Patrick Stewart as Jon Luc Picard was that for me - a North Star, bastion of strength and intellect, he took on the toughest role and made it his own. 😢 🫡
This is what a strong, intellectual, caring person looks like. Always be my Captain
In 1952, an English teacher named Cecil Dormand secretly paid for a dirt-poor 11-year-old to take a drama course.
He never told him and the boy didn’t find out until decades later.
By then, he was a knight, that little boy’s name was Patrick Stewart.
He was born into a poor family in Mirfield, a small mill town in Yorkshire and his father came home from World War II a violent man, and he was violent toward Patrick’s mother.
Young Patrick learned exactly when to step between his father’s fist and his mother.
An English teacher put a copy of Shakespeare in his hand and told him to get up and perform.
He never stopped and left school at 15.
By 19 he was completely bald... most agencies told him he'd never make it because of that.
In 1987, the LA Times called him an “unknown British Shakespearean actor” when he was cast as Captain Picard.
Then he became one of the most famous faces on Earth.
You’ve probably heard that part.
Here’s the part you haven’t:
He spent decades as a patron of Refuge, sheltering women and children from domestic violence.
But he never stopped trying to understand his father.
He dug up a 1940 newspaper clipping that said his dad had come home with severe shell shock.
He went to France and walked the ground where his father’s unit was pinned down under bombing for hours.
He learned his father had PTSD, and nobody ever helped him.
So Patrick became an ambassador for Combat Stress, a charity that helps veterans.
In 2013, a young woman at a Texas convention told him she was a survivor of domestic violence.
He asked, “My dear, are you okay?”
Then he hopped off the stage, held her, and told her: “You never have to go through that again, you’re safe now.”
At Dragon Con, a Make-A-Wish girl dressed as Spock came to meet him.
2,000 people were waiting for him to speak... he sat down and talked with her for 15 minutes, making all of them wait.
He told her that since they were friends now, whenever she saw him on screen she could wave and say, “Hello Patrick.”
After 9/11, he felt helpless, so he brought his one-man A Christmas Carol back to Broadway for a full week of charity shows.
He played every character himself and donated every cent.
In 2019 he did it again, and every dollar went to feeding hungry New Yorkers.
In 2017, he fostered a pit bull named Ginger, who had been rescued from a dogfighting ring.
She was his first dog in more than 50 years.
He couldn’t bring her home to England, so he found her a family.
Then he kept fostering more.
When he said he was done with Star Trek so many people told him the show had gotten them through the hardest times of their lives.
So he wanted to see if Picard could do it one more time.
Rest in Peace, Sir Patrick 🖖

Abdul El-Sayed: “We are being actively bullied by the dumbest people in the room. Donald Trump is an idiot. He has one genius which is getting attention. Because his dad never gave him enough, because he was a nepo baby, he craved attention and used the bullying tactics to get it. But the man is an idiot. Just a fool”
It’s like comparing Michelin starred pasta with out-of-date canned spaghetti
After seeing comparisons between Barack Obama and Donald Trump giving speeches over the weekend, here's another comparison about how they each talk.

I live in a small MAGA town.
I know MAGA people. I drink with them. I talk to them. I study them.
They’re not the loud Twitter yappers, at least most of them. They’re quieter. Slower. But the delusion runs deep, just bottled up in passive smiles and soft voices.
A few weeks ago, one of them tried to convert me at a bar. He knew I wasn’t into the Trump cult, but he started soft. Calm voice. Friendly tone.
“Mario, you’re white. You can drink a lot, you eat meat, “he was just surprised that I was eating rare burger” and drinking vodka chasing it with Guinness. He also said, “You’re one of us. You should feel proud.”
That’s their seduction tactic.
Not facts. Not logic. Just subtle tribal grooming.
“You’re white. You drink. You belong.”
It was almost sweet, in a sad, culty way.
Like a Jehovah’s Witness trying to sell you eternal life with a shaky brochure and cheap suit.
But let’s talk about the whole ecosystem.
The truth.
MAGA men?
Most are not warriors.
They’re out-of-shape, insecure, jealous small-town boys who peaked in high school, still clinging to stories from when they “almost went pro” or “should’ve been in the military.”
They’re proud of being able to drink a case of light beer, drive a truck, and scream about freedom while their knees buckle from sugar and rage.
They’re easy to manipulate because they don’t ask questions.
They don’t read.
They react.
They memorize memes like scripture and repeat them like gospel.
They think being loud equals being right.
They think the world is laughing with them.
It’s not.
The world’s laughing at them, when it’s not just ignoring them entirely.
MAGA women?
They’re caught in a brutal paradox, constantly screaming about how proud and strong they are, while reshaping every inch of their body to meet a fake beauty standard pushed by the very system they claim to hate.
Plastic lips. Inflated cheeks. Eyelashes thick as windshield wipers.
Trying to look rich while shopping clearance at Walmart.
They scream about “natural family values” while injecting Botox and collapsing into MLM scams that promise empowerment through overpriced lipstick.
They mock liberals for being “gender confused” while wearing more synthetic parts than a Barbie made in a Russian factory.
Here’s the thing: MAGA America isn’t just backward.
It’s boring. MAGA folks are simply subsimple.
There’s nothing imaginative about it. No new culture. No innovation. No ideas.
They don’t invent, they imitate.
They don’t challenge, they chant.
It’s the same five phrases over and over.
The same flag. The same truck. The same outfit.
Patriot cosplay.
And that’s why the world doesn’t just hate MAGA.
It forgets it.
Because once the shouting stops, there’s nothing under the hood.
Just cheap beer breath, fake smiles, and a belief that whiteness and loudness are still enough to matter.
You want the brutal truth?
Even without Trump, even without the cult, most of them would still be irrelevant.
Not because they’re evil.
But because they chose comfort over growth.
Tribalism over truth.
Imitation over imagination.
They don’t want to understand the world.
They want the world to stay small enough to understand them.
And that’s the saddest, most humiliating part.

Trump and the GOP have been working hard to keep this video from being reposted on social media. Repost it, keep it alive. Too many people aren't paying attention to who Donald Trump is.
He's a liar, and by his own words, he must be held accountable.🤥

Now would be a good time to remind everyone of these Trump facts, because apparently some people still need the refresher.
Please meet the President of the United States:
Flew on Epstein’s plane at least seven times. Just friends, I guess.
Pleaded the Fifth more than 400 times in a single deposition. Nothing says “innocent” like refusing to answer a single question about your own business.
34 felony convictions. A record most people would call disqualifying. And 91 criminal charges.
Accused of sexual misconduct or assault by at least 26 women. But sure, tell me again how he’s a great guy.
6 corporate bankruptcies. The self proclaimed greatest businessman alive somehow keeps running out of money.
5 draft deferments. Funny how the toughest guy in the room never actually showed up for duty.
4 criminal indictments. Not two. Not three. Four.
2 impeachments. A club of exactly one president.
2 of his own companies convicted of criminal tax fraud. Convicted. Not accused. Convicted.
1 fake university shut down. 1 fake charity shut down.
Even his charity was a grift.
Paid 25 million dollars to settle the Trump University fraud lawsuit because scamming people who believed in you costs money eventually.
Ordered to pay 5 million dollars in the first E Jean Carroll sexual abuse verdict, then hit with 83.3 million more in the second.
A jury said it twice so nobody could pretend it was a fluke.
Ordered to pay 2 million dollars for looting his own so called charity.
Stealing from a charity with his own name on it.
Found liable for business fraud and originally slapped with a penalty topping 450 million dollars, later thrown out on appeal while the fraud finding itself stuck to him anyway.
First president in modern history to increase the deficit every single year of a full term. Fiscal responsibility, apparently, was always just a talking point.
Kept the debt to GDP ratio above 100 percent for his entire first term.
Presided over the largest single day point drop in Dow Jones history at the time. So much for the guy who claimed to be a genius with money.
Set the record for the longest government shutdown in US history in his first term at 35 days, then couldn’t resist beating his own miserable record in his second term with a 43 day shutdown, followed by yet another shutdown just months later. Encore nobody asked for.
Added roughly 2.25 trillion dollars to the national debt in his first year back in office alone, pushing the debt past 39 trillion dollars.
Somebody remind me who the party of fiscal discipline is again.
Pushed through the largest defense budget increase since World War Two while the debt kept climbing anyway.
Purged more than 300,000 federal employees in his first year back.
Efficient, if your goal is chaos.
Pardoned nearly 1,600 January 6 Capitol rioters.
At least 40 of those pardoned rioters have already been rearrested, charged, or sentenced for new crimes since walking free. Shocking absolutely nobody.
His family’s crypto ventures, including a meme coin and World Liberty Financial, pulled in more than 1.4 billion dollars in disclosed earnings while he sat in the Oval Office.
Draining the swamp was apparently code for filling his own pockets.
Sent the National Guard into American cities at a cost of nearly 500 million taxpayer dollars in 2025 alone.
His own tariffs are projected to cost the average American household more than 2,500 dollars this year.
You’re paying for this. Not China. You.
No more foreign wars. Peace deal with Russia and Ukraine on Day One.
None of this is a conspiracy theory, a rumor, or something you saw in a group chat.
It is the actual, documented record, sitting in plain sight for anyone willing to look.
So the next time someone tells you to relax and give him a chance, ask them how many more indictments, judgments, and shutdown records he needs to rack up before that chance runs out.

I know you know this picture. All adult people who've carried some of the pain of this world for others do. 58 years ago this month, three men stood on an Olympic podium in Mexico City.
Two of them, courageous to a level most people will never reach or even aspire to reach, became famous for raising their fists.
The third didn't raise his fist.
But he knew exactly what was happening.
16 October 1968.
The Olympic Games in Mexico City.
The United States is being torn apart by racial conflict. Martin Luther King has been murdered six months earlier. Black Americans are still fighting for rights that other Americans take for granted.
Two American sprinters, Tommie Smith and John Carlos, have just won gold and bronze in the 200 metres.
Between them stands a 26-year-old white Australian called Peter Norman.
Norman has run the race of his life.
He's won SILVER, beating Carlos, one of the overwhelming favourites.
His time of 20.06 seconds is so astonishing that it will remain the Australian national record for another 56 years.
He should be thinking about his medal, his future, the applause, the extraordinary doors that might open for him.
But Smith and Carlos have something else on their minds.
They're planning to protest racial injustice during the medal ceremony.
In front of the entire world.
And they tell Norman what they're going to do.
Norman is Australian.
The American civil rights movement isn't his fight.
He could simply stand there, smile politely, collect his silver medal and go home.
Nobody would ever know that he had been given an opportunity to demonstrate moral courage and declined it.
But Norman asks the Americans what he can do to help.
And he tells them:
"I'll stand with you."
There's a practical problem.
Smith and Carlos have planned to wear black gloves, but Carlos has forgotten his pair.
Norman suggests something beautifully simple.
Why don't they share the remaining pair?
One glove each.
That's why, in the famous photograph, Smith raises his RIGHT fist and Carlos raises his LEFT.
The Australian also finds himself an Olympic Project for Human Rights badge.
He pins it to his tracksuit.
And the three men step onto the podium.
The American national anthem begins.
Smith and Carlos bow their heads and raise their fists.
Norman stands beside them.
A small white man in an Australian tracksuit, wearing a tiny badge.
It doesn't look particularly spectacular.
No shouting.
No violence.
No great revolutionary speech.
Just three men saying, in their own ways, that human beings deserve to be treated as human beings.
And the sporting establishment goes NUTS.
Smith and Carlos are expelled from the Games.
They're denounced, threatened and treated as traitors for daring to make people uncomfortable during a sporting event.
Norman returns to Australia.
His country has its own ugly history of racial exclusion, particularly concerning its Indigenous population.
And there are plenty of Australians who aren't particularly thrilled that their Olympic silver medallist has associated himself with two Black American protesters.
Norman encounters hostility and ostracism in parts of the sporting world.
Four years later, he isn't selected for the Munich Olympics.
Norman never repudiates what he did.
Peter Norman dies in 2006, aged 64.
At his funeral in Melbourne, two men have travelled all the way from America.
Tommie Smith.
John Carlos.
The two Black American athletes he had supported 38 years earlier.
And they carry his coffin.
Carlos told the mourners that Norman hadn't stood in front of them or behind them.
He had stood WITH them.
In 2012, the Australian Parliament finally apologised for Norman's treatment and its failure to recognise his courage while he was alive.
Forty-four years after the protest.
Six years after the man was dead.
One day governments will offer apologies to journalists sacked for holding Israeli officials' feet to the fire.
Hopefully before they die.
