Today I want to recognize the passing of an invaluable member of the Edmonton community: Kyle Dubé.
Kyle served as the Executive Director for @YOUCANEdmonton, a role that helped him change the lives of many youth across the city.
When we lose a community leader like Kyle, the impact is felt not only by the people closest to him. It is felt by everyone who experienced Kyle’s passion for social justice, felt comforted by his words in their time of loss, and saw the power of the kindness and patience he brought to his work every day.
On behalf of City Council, we have sent a copy of this proclamation to Kyle’s family in St. Albert as they celebrate his life today.

I can’t stop thinking about these wise words from the incomparable @caroloffcbc. When it all feels overwhelming and you check out, “that is the ultimate act of privilege.. Bear witness to the struggles of others. That’s as much as the world can ask of you”

Our Son Luke took his own life 3 days ago. He wasn’t perfect yet he was so perfect. We are broken. Parents. Be RELENTLESS with your kids. We were with Luke. We still didn’t see it coming. Annoy them with questions. It’s our duty. Pls RT & hopefully save others from this carnage.
