Ha! I was there less than 24 hours. Next trip.

During a recent Game On session with the Seattle Mariners Business Operations team, I had a great discussion with some of the leaders about differentiating between making connections and building relationships. In particular, I shared from my own imperfect experience, how this connection vs. relationship dynamic can be a serious challenge for public speakers, facilitators, and presenters. As a presenter, connecting with your audience is key. But we also have to be very careful we don't fall in love with the applause from acquaintances and strangers at the expense of the people in our lives who deserve the best of us and who matter most. I explain this in a little more detail in the clip below.
