One of the all-time great Rock Hall moments: Dolly’s “Jolene” with Rob Halford (Judas Priest), Pat Benatar, Annie Lennox, Simon Le Bon (Duran Duran), Pink, and Sheryl Crow. Zac Brown Band held it down as the house band. Rest easy, Dolly 🤘 teapaw.org/JVPALT1/status/2092319…

Remembering Joe Strummer on his Birthday 🖤 an apocalyptic song, Strummer was a news junkie, and many of the images of doom in the lyrics came from news reports he read he claimed the initial inspiration came in a conversation he had with his then girlfriend Gaby Salter in a taxi ride home to their flat in World's End (appropriately) "There was a lot of Cold War nonsense going on, and we knew that London was susceptible to flooding. She told me to write something about that" Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros - London Calling (Jools Holland 2000) ▶️

Long before Britpop dominated the charts, Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine proved that two musicians could make as much noise as a full band. "Sheriff Fatman," released in 1989, became their breakthrough single, pairing biting social satire with punk energy and samples in a way that felt unlike anything else in British indie music. This live performance at Brixton Academy in 1991 captures Carter USM at the height of their early success, with the crowd responding to the song that helped define their career.

The Boston Globe has dedicated a full page in today's edition to the Tartan Army 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🇺🇸 The letter in Boston's largest newspaper reads: "Dear Tartan Army, "You came for the World Cup, but gave us something more. "For a week, you turned train stations into singalongs, Fenway into a football ground, and an ordinary June into something we'll be talking about for years. "Boston has hosted championships, parades, and celebrations of every kind. But we've never hosted guests quite like you all. "Thank you for the laughter, the bagpipes and the memories. The World Cup will move on. So will the songs, but we'll never forget the joy you brought to our city." 𝘐𝘯 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 @SPARScotland 𝘐𝘔𝘈𝘎𝘌: 𝘕𝘦𝘸𝘴𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵
