Honestly can't tell if this is real or not…
Move to Brisbane, Australia, then San Francisco next year, and work 6 days a week, for 12 hours per day.
What even is this?
SF folks — where’s the best place to live with a 6 month old baby? Ideally without the need for a car.

Stuart's still looking for a job and he's very sound. I worked briefly with him on the Messenger at Intercom and I was always impressed by his ability to explore unique ideas.
You might be wondering, why won't you hire him yourself because you have a role open? Stuart is too senior for what we're looking for and we want someone on-site 2 to 3 days a week. Otherwise I would've hired him in a heartbeat tbh!
Digging through the archives to update the folio. Attio Workflows is still up there as one of my favourite bodies of work.
Timeless design, with so many subtle elements stolen by other "flow" features in other apps.
I've not shared much work in a while, so here goes…
Here are some pixels that were rejected on a project.
Life has been great lately. I’ve been learning a new skill that doesn’t include AI: how to be a father.
I’ll be back to work in a couple months 😘
Until then, you’ll find me here, with my boy, teaching him all the wonderful things my incredible Dad taught me.
I'm looking for a new design role, freelance or full-time.
My DMs are open – also:

💌 hello [@] stuart [.] re
After 1.5 years, I'm leaving @IndexBI at the end of the month and looking for something new.
I'm very proud of the work we created, and very grateful to @pladevall and @eportet for my time and the trust to lead design.
💌 I'm excited for the next chapter — DMs are open!
Back to work this week after a small break, and working on something new at @IndexBI.
Soon, _ _ _ _ _ your data in a whole new way! 🚀
Less than 48 hours after this, my Dad passed away, aged 53.
He was my hero. In fact, he is my hero.
When I was about 10 years old, he bought our first family PC. I learned to stack transparent images from Google on top of each other in Microsoft Paint to create album artwork. I loved drawing, because I watched him draw.
One day, I was on the floor drawing miniature maps — and he knew how obsessed I was with the new PC — he said, “you would be interested in graphic design”. My naive brain didn’t understand, but he patiently explained to me that someone created product labels, artwork, and packaging on a computer. That’s all I could think of for the next 7 or 8 years, until I left college (well, I got excluded, sorry, Dad) and landed my first job. The rest is history.
He is the reason I became a designer.
Without him really knowing, he helped design a bank for millions of people. He helped millions of cars get insured on UK roads. He helped 100,000s of people change the way they use the Mac computer and improve their productivity. And that’s not even all of it.
He helped me build a future for my family, when one day I hopefully become a Dad, and get to pass on what he taught me about what it takes to be an incredible friend, father and role model.
His motivation and guidance is what allowed me to do what I’m able to do today.
As I said, call your parents and tell them you love them. It was the last thing I said to my Dad — and his reply was “I love you too”. That was enough.
Thank you will never be enough, but thank you, Dad 🤍
Tomorrow I turn 31. Here's one piece of advice:
Call your parents, speak to them often, and tell them you love them. Life is short.
Some recent exploration for the new @IndexBI AI toolbar.
🔦 Lights out at @IndexBI
We made a huge leap forward in the new design system this month ahead of a big 2025. Proud of how the new pixels are turning out.
P.S. Name your layers 🤐
