🚽 It’s National Toilet Day! What do you do on the toilet? Besides, ya know… This is from A IS FOR APPLE, UNLESS... an irreverent ABCs book by @tommyllew & me There was some back & forth w/ the publisher about whether to show someone ON the toilet #kidlitart #Illustration
Spread from A IS FOR APPLE, UNLESS… Text says: “Q is for Queen. Even queens have to pee sometimes. And poop, too. R is for Ring. If you're in love with a queen, you should give her a ring. But you should probably wait until she comes out of the bathroom.”

🐲Do you have a pet? How big? What’s the biggest you’d like to have? I have tiny dogs and cats, nothing as big as a dragon. But a tiny dragon would be super cute 👋I’m Mark Hoffmann, a #kidlit author/illustrator. I’m rep’d by @literaticat at @andreabrownlit #KidLitArtPostcard
Collage and paint illustration of a cutaway of a castle and beneath the ground: in a dungeon under the castle is a dragon. The dragon’ head is sticking out the large gate of the castle above ground.
