Has a curator approved one of your songs, and now you’re about to release another in the same style? Pro tip 💁‍♀️ Remind them of their previous approval in your quick pitch! Mentioning that they liked a similar track of yours before can help tip the scales in your favor. 🧵👇

After all, if they enjoyed the first one, they’re more likely to feel the same about the new one – and it's also tougher for them to say no in such a scenario 💡 We even show you the curator’s previous approvals when you're browsing the list, so be sure to take advantage of that.

Curious how curators engage with songs like yours? 💡🔎 Want to know how long, on average, songs in your genre are? Or how often curators approve songs in your style? Or how many submissions like yours they're getting these days? 📊🧵👇

It's just a simple, filterable tool to help you get a feel for how your genre is performing. And it's completely FREE, with fresh data every month! 🙌 Knowledge = power… and hopefully, better submissions 😉

If it's not useful to you, no worries! But if it is, it can be a great way to better understand your genre, your chances, and the competition, and to set expectations or plan your next submissions accordingly.

Ever wondered how we "police" feedback on SubmitHub? 👀 Our curators can’t copy or paste their responses – and we mean literally, the system won’t let them. But that’s not all. 🧵👇

So, every message you get (even if it makes you frustrated) was typed by a real person 💬✨

If they write feedback too similar to something they’ve written in any of their last 100 responses, our code flags it and blocks it 🚫 To that, we manually review every curator on a regular cycle (it takes ~ 6 weeks to get through everyone) and coach anyone who needs improvement.

Ever thought about running ads for your music as not being about “buying streams,” but about reaching the right people instead? 👀 A targeted ad can help your song/album reach the most intentional listeners – those most likely to actually like it, save it, and follow you. 🧵👇

💡 Whether you use SubmitHub Ads or run your own campaigns, the best strategy is, usually, to combine approaches: use playlisting and/or playlist ads for reach and (cheaper) streams, while song or artist-focused ads help you build genuine awareness and long-term fans.
9
So, expect a higher cost per result and give the ad more time to find its rhythm. Even if performance looks slower, remember that the results are more intentional – and that makes them far more valuable than streams from a playlist.
2
Also good to know: song & album ads tend to be the most expensive per conversion (especially compared to playlist ads) 💸 That’s due to market saturation and because these ads promote music that listeners often don’t know yet = it takes more or longer for them to connect with it.

What’s YOUR favorite SubmitHub feature? 💭

... when enough people point out something, or when there’s a way to make life easier for artists or curators… we build it, or change it (when possible) 💪 That’s why we’re always tweaking, adding, and improving features – and why we’re proud to stay ahead of the curve.

What happens when you ban AI music... and casually lose 10% of your revenue? 👀 (spoiler 👉 this interview: youtube.com/watch?v=fQzLr9gP…)

Jason sat down with Andrew Southworth to talk about exactly that, PLUS playlist pitching, our new genre detector, SubmitHub Ads, picking curators, Spotify, fake radio stations, SoundCloud, smart links... and quite a bit more. Basically, 80+ mins of music marketing nerdiness. 🤓

🚨 BIG update for anyone running music ads 🔗 SubmitHub Links can now detect whether someone who clicked actually opened Spotify (or another streaming app)... and pass THAT information back to Meta. 🎯🧵👇
