Congrats @MetroSchools @NSA_Magnet

“I want to be one of the greats,” he told @NicoleValdesTV.
A $7.5 billion border wall project at Big Bend. Is it the best use of taxpayer money? We ask ranchers, local law enforcement, and Gov. Abbott.
Our full report w/ @NicoleSganga
Alpine, TX—There’s an unlikely revolt against the president’s decade-old promise to build a wall. Cattle ranchers, environmentalists, sheriffs, senators & country singers united behind a distinctly Texas argument: Secure the border, but don't tread on us.

Counselor Chloe Childress and camper Molly DeWitt were two of the 27 girls who were killed during flooding at Camp Mystic last year.
“To be able to be at the leading edge of meaningful change, that keeps our daughters' purpose and their spirit alive,” Molly’s father, Ryan DeWitt, told CBS News’ Jason Allen.
Now, their fathers, DeWitt and Matthew Childress, said they are connected forever, as they seek lasting change in camp safety laws: “This job of safety is never done.”

Our @CBSMornings story w/ @camiloreports in El Paso, TX: US Army Sergeant First Class Jose Serrano and his wife Deisy Rivera Ortega with the first joint interview since her release from ICE detention.
“We follow the rules. And in doing that, my wife got arrested. That's what I feel that is not right with the process”: After weeks in ICE detention, Deisy Rivera Ortega is grateful to be back home with her husband, Sgt. 1st Class Jose Serrano, a U.S. citizen whose career in the Army spans 27 years.
In an exclusive interview, Serrano and Rivera Ortega, who has been in the U.S. for more than a decade, told Camilo Montoya-Galvez about her detainment and fear over what may come next.
The Department of Homeland Security maintains Rivera Ortega is in the U.S. illegally with a deportation order, saying in a statement that she “will receive full due process.”

A @CBSMornings exclusive: Oklahoma High School principal Kirk Moore reflects on taking down the gunman. We had a few surprises for Principal Moore!
Story w/ @CBSMATTGUTMAN @savsin_news @elissacandiotti in Pauls Valley, OK
“God's hand was on all of us”: Dramatic video from last month shows Oklahoma high school principal Kirk Moore tackling a gunman who law enforcement said intended to conduct a Columbine-type attack. Moore was shot in the leg, but because of his actions, no other faculty or students were hurt.
In an exclusive network interview, the principal being hailed as a hero told Matt Gutman about redirecting donations to his students and acting on instinct when he heard the first shots fired: “I can't explain why I did what I did. I think many, many people would have done the same thing. They just don't realize it.”
More tonight on @CBSEveningNews. We are in Mineral Wells, TX.. about 50 miles west of Fort Worth.
On the ground.. and on the water in Eagle Pass, TX.
We returned to the U.S.-Mexico border for a reality check on how much the situation there has changed under President Trump’s crackdown.
Unlike 2023, we did not see mass illegal crossings or scenes of desperation.
Instead, we saw a quiet border.
Our dispatch for @CBSMornings.
More tomorrow on @CBSMornings from Eagle Pass, TX.
Illegal crossings along the Del Rio sector of the U.S.-Mexico border near Eagle Pass, Texas peaked at 4,000 less than three years ago, in December 2023.
So far this year, agents are seeing just 32 illegal crossings a day, the top Border Patrol official in the region told @camiloreports.
As Jim Nantz would say.. "A tradition unlike any other."

Stunning.
Good morning, world! 🌎
We have spectacular new high-resolution images of our home planet, all of us looking back through the Orion capsule window at our Artemis II astronauts as they continue their journey to the Moon.

ALT One-third of Earth peeking through the window of the Orion capsule. The planet is a dreamy pale blue, swirling with white clouds and reflected sunlight. Although Earth only fills a fraction of the image it is the brightest object in the image by far. The capsule window is surrounded by a thick frame held in place with bolts, reminiscent of a heavy duty airplane window. It is dark in the capsule, but the outlines of straps and various components of the capsule are visible. Brighter white components are visible in the upper right corner.
