In Quantum Conundrum we had no global system to keep audio narration from stomping/interrupting other audio. So in UE3 Kismet we simply had every audio event plugged into EVERY OTHER audio event to check if it was playing, and a series of delay loops to sort priority.

please share your most embarrassing game dev crimes. Mine: all the scripting in Gone Home is contained in 2 gigantic uScript graphs, bc I didn't know about interlinking many smaller graphs at the time. It's only 2 bc the first one started running too slow to navigate. Your turn.

My title was Concept Artist but near the end of production I was the only one with time so this became mine to manage. You couldn't see the node graph there were so many wires going everywhere. With no time for a real solution I fixed bugs by simply...Checking. Every. Wire.

So someone @Wendys approved a @pandoramusic ad that prominently features the sound of someone eating fish. Like that's the whole ad: "Listen to someone eat fish. No REALLY listen. Listen again. No, AGAIN." Hearing people eat food is one of the worst parts of food
