“ that we do .” he let his own arms wrap around her waist as he pulled her in closer . a small breath leaving his lips as he just scooted a little closer to her .

“ I love you too , Mari.” he whispered softly against her as well . his forehead finding a place against her forehead . “ I’ll just keep missing you . . when this moment ends .” he had relaxed a little more against her touch .

Luke instantly relaxed against her touch , it was as his worries about them separating again were gone . he let himself melt into the kiss almost as instantly as he wanted to let go completely for her . also forget everything .

Luke noticed the closeness between them . his own gaze looking at her eyes and her lips . before moving closer himself . he didn’t have anything else to say before he brought himself in to break the distance between them. his lips against hers gently.

I doubt you ever will . you are blinded by the gods and I doubt that will change .

“ I know you’re still here . but i’m also aware it might not be for long.” he leaned into her touch just a little . just the simple touch on his skin meant a lot than a million words . “ then , what exactly do you want me to do ? ”

“ I get it , Marianne . I can’t make you choose me over everyone else . i can survive with just the sweetest memory of you.” he nodded his head understandably . having a feeling this would probably be the last time he has her this close .

“ hmm . . I hope it’s not selfish to say but . .” his voice was also soft to mirror her tone of voice. keeping his hand where it was to allow himself to have contact with her . “ I want you all to myself .”

“ i dont know , Mari . I really don’t .” he said softly , looking down for a moment . before his gaze moved back up , letting his hand move to the side of her face . “ I don’t want to be your enemy . I really don’t . but as long as i’m something to you — i’ll take it.”

Luke kept eye contact with her as she took a small distance between them . it was something he didn’t want . he let out a gentle sigh as he watched her . “ I also think of you more than I ever cared to admit .”
