One of the highlights of my time in Jordan was visiting UNWRA archives and examining the index cards and other records of the 750,000 Palestinians kicked off their land at the Nakba in 1948. They used to be kept in Gaza and were airlifted out at the beginning of the genocide- Israel has destroyed all the archives that remained. They form the best evidence for some form of reparations in the future and are now being scanned and digitalised

This is far bigger than betraying Ukraine. It signals that no American ally relying on US technology is safe.
Latest: Zelenskyy tells reporters over WhatsApp that restrictions on Ukraine's Starlink systems remain. Interceptor drones can't function, logistics and operations hobbled. The maximum speed is 161 kph; "exceeding this limit causes the Starlink connection to cut out completely, resulting in the loss of the drone." He says Ukraine has done tests to determine whether SpaceX is truly facing technical issues, as has been told Kyiv by the US side, or if this is a "deliberate operation... to restrict us, cut us off, and prevent us from defending ourselves and protecting our people, both at the front and among the civilian population." He says Ukraine "sent a couple of vehicles equipped with Starlink terminals into European Union territory." "They moved at speeds exceeding 180kph, and the Starlink systems worked perfectly. We have the relevant logs and evidence to prove this." He adds: "The conclusion is clear: the restrictions are in effect within Ukraine but do not apply within the European Union. In other words, this is a planned operation."

Pelvic organ prolapse - bladder or vaginal - affects about 1 in 12 Australian women. It's often linked to physical strain, heavy lifting or past childbirth. It’s uncomfortable and debilitating. Jacqui Lambie has shown courage and honesty in speaking of her experience of vaginal prolapse. She’s talked about an awkward subject to make it easier for other affected women. Pauline Hanson thinks that's worth making fun of. One Jacqui Lambie is worth 1,000 Pauline Hansons.

"One of the biggest issues with AI... is that these platforms and models are collecting exponentially more data than social media was able to. Therefore, they can more cheaply, more quickly and more easily target people." Tech whistle-blowers Brittany Kaiser and Frances Haugen tell me why we should be very worried about AI and our data: "It is very easy for our foreign adversaries to spread disinformation at an exponential rate more than ever before."

A good meeting with UK Prime Minister @AndyBurnham in London. We value our partnership and continue working together for security. I briefed Andy in detail on Russian attacks against our cities, our people, and critical infrastructure. Wave after wave of drone attacks throughout the day and night today. Russia launched 124 drones overnight alone, and another 145 during the day. And right now, there are still more than 40 “shaheds” in our skies. They attack energy infrastructure, logistics, and railways. We managed to shoot down a significant number of the drones, but some got through. In terms of scale, this is one of the largest attacks. It is clear that the Russians are trying to take advantage of the problems with Starlink in Ukraine, as our interceptor drones depend on this connection among other things. That is why it is especially important right now to strengthen our air defenses and provide Ukraine with everything it needs to protect lives. Today, a decision was made to accelerate deliveries of British-made air defense systems to Ukraine to counter jet-powered “shaheds.” And I am very grateful for this timely and much-needed assistance. I thank Andy, the people of the United Kingdom, the government, and His Majesty for their solidarity and support for our country during this brutal Russian war.

Curious how people who are getting into their early old age, like our PM, fail to support aged, frail and disabled people. None of us can tell how and when our body will crumble. Even Gough was in aged care! It behoves us all to ensure aged people and their carers have the necessaries of life their situation demands. #Respite
Canberrans were promised more respite beds at the last election but the federal Labor govt have walked away from that commitment 18 months later with the full funding envelope committed to "upgrades" rather than any expansion in the number of respite beds. A hugely disappointing & perplexing outcome when we know at least one local provider put forward a proposal to build 18 additional respite beds within the funding envelope. We need more respite beds in the ACT so I don't understand why we’re spending $10m and not getting a single extra bed when there is a proposal to keep Burrangiri open and deliver 18 more beds for that same $$. davidpocock.com.au/burrangir…
