'I Play Rocky,' Peter Farrelly’s rousing crowd-pleaser about Sylvester Stallone and the making of the 1976 classic film Rocky, has been submitted by distributor Amazon/MGM for Golden Globes consideration as a musical/comedy, rather than a drama, THR has exclusively learned. bit.ly/48weLDk

Jaafar Jackson's performance of "Bad" was nominated for Song: Onscreen Performance. Historically, actors who win or get nominated for HMMA Onscreen Performance (Austin Butler: Elvis or Emilia Jones: CODA) use that momentum to propel themselves into Oscar Best Actor/Actress convo.

MICHAEL was nominated for: Best Music-Themed Film, Biopic or Musical. This serves as crucial validation for Lionsgate's campaign after the Golden Globes bumped the film into the Drama categories. It keeps the movie heavily associated with its musical excellence & storytelling.
